I called Let it ride a 'live play slot' too...

Can't stress this enough. Need to find one where they have a pocket pair bonus. Pays out if you don't hit any of the small pocket pairs.

Ouch--painful grind down of your buy-in but at least you got to play for awhile. Better luck next time! I also can't help but note Mississippi Stud is basically Reverse Let It Ride. Getting dealt two cards plus three on the board instead of three hole cards plus two on the board, putting in bets as opposed to taking the bets back, and hitting Two Pair frequently being the thing that saves your session. I gotta play Mississippi Stud one day. 🙃

technically if you don't play by book in blackjack you potentially could take the person next to you's card; so I tend to not deviate from basic strategy for blackjack

While this is technically true, BJ coaches and card counters will both tell you someone else playing like a maniac at the table changes the numbers so little it will not change the outcome.

That being said, it doesn't mean it isn't frustrating when someone hits when they shouldn't and takes the dealers bust card or your face card for a double

Lol, gambling. Note to self, never play that game. Heck, you never won anything, not even close. Don't trust card shuffling machines. Good luck, not criticizing you, just a simple observation.

It can be great...

This is the only table game that I ever play and I win at it most of the time. Your strategy was not very good at all. You don't play face cards if the other card is under a 6, that's always a fold. You should have played that 96 of clubs because both of those cards are push cards and it's a possible straight flush hand. Whenever you get a pocket pair of 2's through 5's you need to triple down on your first bet. That way you win the maximum amount of money on any winning hand.

Agreed. I learned from the Wizard of Odds Site. On a $5 table (which is rare to find on the East Coast nowadays I play a bit more reckless.
