Playing METAL bass in the lowest possible tuning sounds HEAVY

It isn’t just that you make doing this stuff look easy - you do, of course, somehow - it’s that you look like you’re having more fun doing it than should be legal anywhere on this planet. While you perform. Bringing the flawless technique is one thing. Inspired composition is yet another. But presenting it with a sly twinkle in your eye makes it special. For me, anyway.

The birth of the modern (more prog based) djent sound (Not referring to the first wave with Meshuggah.) Kind of sounds like them.

First, as always, your playing is fabulous and highly inspirational to everyone, especially amateur bassists like myself. Thank you for you time and effort composing, practising, playing and producing this video. In case you want to go a little lower, and it is just a semi-tone... If you use Rotosound Drop Zone plus strings RS66LH+ 85,105,135,175 for an F#0, B0, E1, A1 tuning the low F# works well however, 23Hz is below most speakers capability to produce without significant loss in amplitude. To flatten the response curve I use a couple of powered 18" cabs with a dedicated low frequency equaliser post a low pass filter set at 33Hz, around C1. You could try this but; clearly with our headphones, computer monitors & god forbid phones we are not hearing what you have live. This indeed sounds great regardless but I wonder if you consider that the equipment people are hearing you on is highly variable and for most completely inadequate for the task, I doubt many have 21" speakers that can function well down to around 18Hz. Are you EQing the sub-40hz frequencies with this in mind? Is what you are hearing bass heavy so we may get a better 'replication' of the sound you want us to hear? btw I have no connection to Rotosound other than using their strings on some of my basses, its just that they are to my knowledge the only company that produces a 4 string set with these gauges & even they only do them as stainless steel roundwound's. Thank you for your time if you read this, thoughts should you reply and of course for the artistry you, as always, demonstrate in your productions.

Who else, if they could play this, would do so, wearing a stupid wig and a terrible tie? Everybody else would try and make it epic. You good sir, made this fun. Bell notification button ON.

The whole piece is fire. But 0:32 is one of the best damn thing I’ve heard in my life, especially in between those sick low heavy tones

lol, nice, that's a good mashup of Meshuggah + Dream Theater + the iconic Charles tapping in there. That's totally something like that you need to play on the next Shred colab man!!! That was Heavy AF but still melodic and totally surprising tempo-wise as it should be. Spiffing indeed.
