Agreed, Howard. RIP Richard Kiel. For such a big man who appeared scary to me as a kid in the movies, he seemed like such a down to earth, gentle and kind man. Richard Kiel, you made quite an impression on me as a kid watch The Spy Who Loved Me & Moonraker. What a time it was to be born in the 70’s and to be a kid growing up in the 70’s and 80’s. We has James Bond, Clint Eastwood, Bruce Lee, and Star Wars. Now everything is a remake and/or unoriginal. Jaws was the best Bond villain for sure.

I'm really proud that when I was Historian at the International Spy Museum I got to do the interview with Richard Kiel that is the backbone of this piece. Recorded it at a studio in Fresno, CA where he lived. He was a delightful man full of fun stories. I also came up with the first rough outline of this video. The Museum's video production team cut it back massively and made it about 20 times better than my version, mind you!
"Not socially. His name's Jaws. He kills people." Said in the one movie where he doesn't kill anybody.

RIP to a class act
As a kid he terrified me in the Bond movies, as he was such a great villain plus seemed a gentle giant off screen 👍
He'll always be the #1 Bond villain in my book.

Easily the scariest villain in Bond history.
The more I have watched Richard Kiel in James Bond movies, the more I was enchanted to him. To me, he was totally a successful Bond villain and I was immersed into the mesmerizing world of Bond.
The henchman in the very first Bond movie I ever saw (Spy Who Loved Me; '77) He was also awesome in Moonraker, Force 10 From Navarone and Pale Rider. Rest In Peace, Rich'. I'll never forget your movies, man!
RIP to Richard Kiel he was a lovely guy and Jaws was such a fun character very entertaining.
#RichardKiel May his Soul rest in peace!
R.I.P big guy!!
Best bond villain. Always hoped i'd get the chance to meet him. Rest in peace Sir.
To my mind, he is a strongest Bond's opponent. First of all, he is the only one villain, that James couldn't defeat

Physically, yes. Both that and intelligence would fall to Red Grant
Ah bless him, he played a great villain! RIP Richard Kiel. Moonraker is one of my favourite bonds and Drax is my favourite villain madman as he’s just totally bonkers evil, and played very well by Michael Lonsdale and then next it’s Christopher Walken’s Max Zorin, and then Javier Bardem’s Silva.
Great memories about this tall super bad guy. 007 for ever.
I've always quite liked Mr Kiel's voice. There's a real richness to it, he would've made an excellent narrator I think
I also agree with everyone in the comments. I met him and he was a great guy, really nice guy.
RIP Richard Kiel.
I love how the audience cheered during "The Spy Who Loved Me" screening when they saw Jaws survived at the end!
he will always be the 1 bond villains in my books
Loved every supporting role Kiel has ever been in. Jaws #1. Cool guy. Fun actor!!!
Got used to the idea you'd be around longer than the rest of us. :( Last scene - Here's to you.
Great movies. I grew up during that time and really enjoyed the Roger Moore era and Jaws as the henchman.
"A man has to have his limitations." -Clint Eastwood: Magnum Force
i met richard and his lovely wife diane twice at autographica in northampton in 2001 and 2002 , he was a very kind and yet sensitive man . when he shook my hand it was then when i really found out how powerfull he must have been in his prime .for me he was the best bond villain. may you rest in peace my big friend.
RIP Richard Kiel - we`ll never forget you!
"Well, here's to us"..... First time he spoke and I thought he had a great handsome voice.
Jaws was one of my favorite Bond villains. I also enjoyed Richard Kiel in "Happy Gilmore". RIP
Richard Kiel was the Man.
50 years?! Congratulations! I was in the theater back then and loved this movie, I was a kid. The parts with Jaws were the best! Looking back, I now want to see Lotta Vagina mud wrestle with Dr. Goodhead!
The best henchman of all of the bond villains but with love.
R I P What a lovely chap.
r.i.p good sir.
I was a sugar loaf cable car operator during 4 years. The view is awesome!!
Always remember looking forward to see what would happen between Bond and Jaws.
I noticed Richard Kiel in an Elvis Movie called: “Roustabout”. It was at the very end of the movie, he was one of the Carnies and played a big Caveman I guess. If you look he would be on the left side of the screen.
RIP JAWS your my favorite villain 😔🙏🏼
Met "Jaws" in person, nice guy.
Richard Keil was a true Gentleman in real life and was a nice guy
Seen all the Bond films. But I have never seen an interview with Jaws. Great Interview.. Very Cool.
Jaws was scary in The spy who loved me and he went on to look more terrifying in Moonraker.
RIP
One of the greats.
The only villain to be loved by the audience. We cheered for Jaws. Richard Kiel made Jaws so likable, and his character couldn't even talk. I don't think he gets enough credit. People just assume that Jaws would be just as likable regardless of what the actor did.
(My instant favorite after playing Eveything or Nothing and Nightfire 007. I SALUTE you!)
Hes got a loveable look ❤️ always loved Jaws
man i love jaws.
He was tough to kill in the Aztec level. Had to unload so much lasers on the guy. XD

Love the story arc
This guy used to scare us as kids lol we thought of him each time we entered beach waters thinking we'd see him biting a shark

@@casvastenburg8034 yes at the very least he was that tall I've always been very tall and solid 6 foot 2 in the 5th grade .I bumped into him is how me and my friend met him and he dwarfed me I'm not used to that happening but he was definitely the bigger man that day .and very nice we was huge James bond fans and was young dumb kids and he took time out to talk with us with a smile on his face.
Great guy and RIP
Eloquently brings up "Willey Coyote
I could visualize several movies with him and Dolly as leads. Not sure where they would have gone but I could visualize them.
R.I.P 🙏🙏🙏
Wow!!
He’s the villain’s top henchman or woman, and they usually die, but not always.
He looks like Michael Shannon...
With his size, super strenght and not to forget his teeth, he would of course easily kill James Bond ~ but we do understand we can not kill Bond off !
I used to have nightmares of this guy chasing me in school but he stopped chasing me when I told him his girlfriend was my cousin 😂. Best nightmare ever.
Rip richard kiel favorite bond villain
lovely
1:59 was that an actual shark cause of not that looks perfect especially for an older movie
Childhood
I remember I was few years old when my grand mom took me to see either moonraker or spy who loved me. jaws face was prominent on the poster. I refused to watch the film. did that on clash of the titans too. Medusa was on the poster.
The cable shown that Jaws bites through is made of hardened twisted steel with an overall thickness of about 2 inches. You could shoot at that cable with a high powered rifle and the bullets would bounce off. You could detonated dynamite on it and nothing would happen. People don't realize how strong cable like that is.

The first bond villain that seemed actually creepy. He seemed to stalk Bond's every move and follow him to places where a normal person wouldn't be able to.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏ótimo ator trabalhou bem 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I WILL get you 007! BE STILL!
Awesome movies. Check him out in 'cannonball run' movie 1981, he plays 'Jaws' next to Jackie Chan and Roger Moore plays a bond type character called 'Roger Moore', it's so funny. opening scene with the black Lamborghini is Epic : P
If i found someone that size in my closet i would be fucking scared. That scene always gets me. Oh hello there mr 220cm guy :P
wtf where are her braces.. thats why they fell for each other she had braces
The best
Eterno dentes de aço 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I totally keep my veneers like that 2 NO WAY¿¿♡♡♡
I wonder if Richard Kiel ever considered a career in Basketball.
RIP famoust actor.
👍👍
My name is Jaws. Only Jaws
Dude gave me such nightmares as a kid.
Richard was such a sweetheart and used to live two miles from my home in YLP. I met him at a grocery store in 2000. I'm 6'3" and I was quite surprised when we rounded to aisle. I'm usually one of the tallest in the room. 😁
He kinda looks like The Creeper from Scooby Doo
RIP Gentle Giant
who's the better character? The hero that comes up being a hero and saving the day over and over again - or a villain that overcomes his status to be evil to become a hero himself?
I think the great khali should be the next Jaws.
So I watched Moonraker..... Do y'all think Jaws and Doll made it at the end?????
I feel like the Great Khali from WWE would make the best reprisal of Jaws.
The end of Moonraker is the only time Jaws ever talked. Bond movies were never as good without him and Roger Moore. Too serious. He was great in The Longest Yard too. I'll miss him.
DENTINHO LINDIO !!!!
COLEY FOLEY FUCKIN LOVES: THIS... HAHAHA! (ON "STARZ" AGAIN RIGHT NOW.)
