If you would have went to a desert, you should have gone to the outback and hang out with some aboriginals where the didgeridoo originated, but it still looks good in the Moroccan desert👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Not a females thing to ever touch or think about even looking at over there in the outback. Imagine your girlfriend in LAX have an elder see her just carry a Didjeridoo. Had to have security get her instrument back. 1996. Aloha

In Australia ( where didgeridoo comes from) didgeridoo is strictly a men’s instrument tans women are nt allowed to touch it. I am NOT being sexist nor are they, it is just culture

This really only applies to ceremonial use of the instrument. There are examples in more recent history, of aboriginal Australian women playing the didgeridoo in informal situations. It’s important to have cultural sensitivity and respect for instrument’s history and significance in ceremony, but it’s not as black and white as a blatant prohibition for all women. « However, Linda Barwick, an ethnomusicologist, said that though traditionally women have not played the didgeridoo in ceremony, in informal situations there is no prohibition in the Dreaming Law.[35] For example, in 1966, ethnomusicologist Alice Marshall Moyle made a recording in Borroloola of Jemima Wimalu, a Mara woman from the Roper River, proficiently playing the didgeridoo.[36] In 1995, musicologist Steve Knopoff observed Yirrkala women performing djatpangarri songs that are traditionally performed by men and in 1996, ethnomusicologist Elizabeth MacKinley reported women of the Yanyuwa group giving public performances. »

The prohibition is also apparently a more recent phenomenon in some aboriginal communities. (There was no prohibition at its origin). « The belief that women are prohibited from playing is widespread among non-Aboriginal people and is also common among Aboriginal communities in Southern Australia; some ethnomusicologists believe that the dissemination of the taboo belief and other misconceptions is a result of commercial agendas and marketing »

This is going to be a sorry, not sorry comment. In traditional Aboriginal culture, women are not allowed to even touch a didge, let alone play one. It is HIGHLY TABOO. By you, as a woman playing the didgeridoo, you are deeply insulting and disrespecting thousands of years of Aboriginal History and culture. As talented as you are, you need to consider the traditions and customs of the oldest culture on earth.

Well she isn't part of traditional Aboriginal culture now is she . Luckily cultures also evolve or we would all be stuck in the stone age.
