The good things never last… you find them and it’s amazing and you want it all the time but you get used to it, and it doesn’t give you that same feeling anymore, and not only are you losing the excitement of whatever it is, but also you’re sad it has to be a memory now, and it’s going to happen again… and again… forever… bc the more jaded you get the more you want to find the next thing that makes you happy, just to do it all again. I remember playing CS:GO long ago. I absolutely ADORED Dual Pistols. I mean, come on! First round and you just run "Tra-ta-ta-ta-ta!" like a maniac, onto the battlefield. And it was fun! Grabbing shotgun and using smoke or flash-granade to outsmart enemies, play game and so on. And after long time... I came back to game. Loaded into lobby. And literally the SECOND people saw my buying Dual-Pistols - everybpdy just explpded: my team raged on me, enemy team laughed theyr asses off. Everybody uses one and same weapons: AK and M16. Or AWM. No shotguns, nor machineguns, no variations of AR's - only those 2. It's just... boring. What's the point?

This is why I stopped playing CSGO. I won 80% of all matches and didn't feel anything, but every loss dragged down my mental health, so I eventually had to switch to different games to get myself into a position where I'm not the best but actually have to learn something new. It does help although I eventually lost my Competitive mindset in order to go back to a more casual one. I think the guys you play with have a big impact on your mind as well.

Old maps like italy and office..., me sitting here remembering I stoped playing cs when csgo launched and in 1990s most people posting here weren't even born yet😅

only game that genuinely never ages, as much as the franchise grows old it plays and functions the exact same as it was made all those decades ago

Its almost like everyone is getting better over time and the higher skill ceiling forces new players to adapt immediately to levels that would be considered insane back in the day

2000 elo would make you top 3k on Faceit in Europe in 2015. Let that sink in for a second.

In my opinion the 2014 csgo with the old animations etc played so different compared to 2022 csgo... I don't know. Maybe i am wrong. But 2014-2017 or maybe let's say 2018 was the best cs years..... Maybe just for me dont know..

I remember playing it 2013 on my cousin pc for the first time and from then on I fell in love with the game. Only regret I have is not buying a ton of old cases/capsules. Would of sorted out my retirement if I bought more 😅

no matter how bad it gets you keep coming back to it because it's the only game you're good at

as time goes on the skill levels of players gets better so you there's like nothing you can do about it it's just the players skill evolving

Exactly, and that's what's ruining the game for people who don't want to tryhard and just want to play for fun and have a great time. I still remember when I started playing cs:go, I had been playing cs 1.6 for years at the time and was really good at it, so when I switched to the infinitely more easier cs:go, I dominated pretty much every single game without breaking a sweat, took me 25 comp wins to get to supreme and I wasn't even trying hard, I didn't know smokes, flashes, molotov's or callouts, I was just playing to have a good time and it was so much fun. Nowadays however, anything over gold nova I don't want to play and I derank myself to stay in the fun zone because the skill ceiling has risen so much these last years that higher ranks are full of tryhards who are extremely toxic and it's just not fun to play anymore. People take this game way too seriously and forgot that the main reason we play videogames is to have a good time, no one cares what rank you are and what your k/d, that's not what gaming is about, and the people who take things too seriously are doing nothing but ruining the experience for everyone.

The old sounds are so nostalgic😢.

That’s how it feels with almost every game nowadays because we just keep getting better and better and it’s more fun to just mess around whether or not we’re good it’s fun to be bad
