Problem with Firestorm is the storm isn’t strong enough people camping in the storm. And they tried to copy pubg healing smg looting. If they dumb down the mechanics like Warzone 1 did I would totally play

I remember the muppets who would glitch out of one of the storage rooms to get on the ground before the hangar doors opened. Firestorm was great, if only it was free to play.

The sound design, the graphics, the TTK, the fire ring, and the color grading are all nailed to perfection. It's a shame that it was behind a paywall. It literally had the biggest potential in the battle royale sphere.

Also given that Warzone seemed to borrow a lot of design ideas from Firestorm (very similar looting and armor systems for example) is further proof that EA had a golden egg on their hands and they just casually decided to drop it on the floor

unfortunately it was rushed out and EA has a track record of ignoring potential. I remember the looting and UI was panned on release. Really at the time firestorm was just hopping on the bandwagon and had serious roadblocks when it came to competing in the genre. Namely that it was behind a $60 paywall and other BRs were free. But also I wouldn't be surprised if the complaints about player visibility in multiplayer carried over to firestorm.

Sounds to similar to what happened with portal for 2042 it was one of the best features of Bf 2042 then they just dumbed it.

It's criminal how underrated this mode is. Dice really did drop the ball on this.

BF V is in it's own class. Nothing form that time comes even close. Even the latest fps games have a hard time coping with this masterpieces immersion and visual beauty. EA was in a bad place when this launched and it didn't get the attention it deserved. Such a shame.

Watching Jack play firestorm was the last thing I thought I'd see today.

I Remember playing a round of Firestorm when it released and especially one situation... it was fresh after jumping from the plane... i knew 1 guy landed with me and i tried to get a weapon as fast as i could. Found one and I heard him running in the building next to me so i watched the windows until i saw him and shot. This moment... complete silence except his steps from running, one loud shot from me and instantly the sound of his dead body falling to the ground and complete silence again... I really would love to play this gamemode with max players again..

Still the best gunplay and movement mechanics I have ever experienced. MW3 and 2042 cannot even get close.

Try it then. Play Bf5 and then Bf3 the difference is huge. I cant play Bf3 anymore cause its too clunky and movement is fine but not to modern standard. And thats fine. I had alot of fun with Bf3 and to this day its one of the best Battlefields we had. But its outdated mechanic and gunplay wise. @@oLii96x

what is criminal is them lying about last standoff. that mode is not real, never existed, the matches would always end in win, not draw.

the thing about firestorm i love is the storm, its the most unique storm in a battle royale game, also with the armor plates they were so unique

I loved Firestorm so much man... I was so sad when I couldn't find just normal lobbies when it died.

I remember nobody really cared about the game mode resulting in low player count when the game released, but I always thought it was a pretty fun addition to the series, and a nice take on a battle royale with that battlefield flair

I don't think it was lack of support or anything. It was still playable and fun! People are just too damn picky and want the game to perform for them. People don't want to perform and adapt in games anymore. Firestorm rocks in my books!

This was released at the time where the battle royal genre was superr oversaturated so, many people (including myself) didn't even give it a try because they were burnt out from the genre.

Firestorm was sooo good! Should've been free to play though, and had more support. Awesome map and atmosphere!

It's a shame they just abandoned this mode the way they did. I remember having so much fun dropping in. The final circle could get intense. Beautiful map. Awesome destruction. Incredible atmosphere. And that ring of fire was just awesome.

I loved the idea of firestorm. Battlefield + battle royale just sounds like an amazing experience. Hope they do go come back with a surprise firestorm 2.0 🤞🤞

I haven’t thought about Firestorm for years. That game mode was so dead when I played BFV.

I did NOT think we would be talking about Battlefield V at all in 2023 let alone FIRESTORM!

Awesome to see this Jack, I thought the mode was turned off and had never tried playing it. Will be installing BF V just to go run around on this (not caring about winning). The V1 / sound (descriptions of the noise in literature and everyone clenching up after the engine noise stopped till the impending explosion) was amazing, a legit big bomb from the era. The idea of bringing this map into 2042 as a BF V era game is perfect. I'd like to see the mode, but just the map would be great. Thanks for this Jack. Dice has huge player numbers and the graphics look great...what to do....think they should do a remastered BF 1 and BF V so the console gameplay is brought up to current capabilities along with their anti-cheat from 2042 being integrated. Alot less work than a full on game development. As you said Firestorm should get some special attention as its superb in so many ways.

Pretty cool that you played it again. I really liked to watch videos of that mode. Maybe my favorite BR mode. Would watch more videos of it for sure!

actually firestorm would make total sense in 2042, as theres a lot of mentions of massive fires sweeping Europe. I feel like this could port well as a concept, and maybe even the map even though its dated.

Honestly I think if Dice decided to revive this in 2042 it would bring in a lot of players.

Man, watching you play this actually got me wanting to jump back in to see how it holds up. I loved BFV and honestly really enjoyed Firestorm. It truly is such a beautiful map. I would have loved to hear more about the lore. From a concept point, Firestorm in 2042 would have made sense with all the crazy weather events in that world. I know they didn't have time to build that, but it would have been interesting to see how they would have approached that.

I love your enthusiasm and appreciation for this game...makes me wanna jump in again :) I used to love playing it! So sad that it didnt push through the way it should have. 🤕

Love these videos lately! The past few weeks I've been ill and needed some nostalgia to help me through, so have rewatched all Jack's old various BF videos,(especially enjoying BF1 an V). Man that is still the best game on planet Earth..smooth play and the best engine to play..Me and like 50 players on discord have more than 3500 hours of play form 2018.. 70% the most in firestorm..Very nice to you do that clip..and Nixailer and Voncoval also my friends🥰..see you in firestorm

It was the best BR ever with so much potential. If they would have supported it and made it free to play this game could have been, what Warzone is now. Shame that EA and even the battlefield community didn’t saw, how good this mode was.

So much potential, think the market was just so saturated with battle royals at the time it never got the traction it deserved. You need to try some Post Scriptum next you’d have a blast with that one😎

I think failure of FS was more due to rough start with players not being able to loot because loot landed on the floor in one place. Before they fixed it players left it for multiplayer and other BR's

It is soo good to get back to this game. I have 620h played in BFV and enjoyed every minute of it.

I used to be the absolute champ at this game. Pink Bren is easily the best gun in the game. Hanson farms was an amazing spot to land and loot too ! Nostalgia !

This game still looks absolutely amazing. Definitely one of the best looking fps games out there!

It was either this or blackout, I think you might be right though because Blackout didn't release plate replenish on release and may have incorporated it off this game.

I used to love Firestorm… very underrated! Could never find a full game even when BF5 was going strong!

This is the best Battle Royale I played so far, it's such a shame no one plays it. I think it would get pretty popular again if they would make it free to play, I really hope it will still happen soon.

This took me back, played a bunch back when it was just out, managed about 25 solo wins, good times (except dying 1000 times to bush or building campers)

There is a rumour that they are working on a br/ extraction mode imagine instead of a circle closing in it was levoultion events like an earthquake , tsunami etc closing parts of the map down pushing you towards a final extraction that you have to capture and hold and fight over , I also think classes would work in a br like the medic can be the only one to bring you back to life with the defibrillator, instead of what they did in hazard zone and made like cod where you buy someone back in and they just fall from the sky which wasn’t good

Firestorm had immense potential. I actually liked it quite a Bit for its short life span.

I remember playing firestorm with the boys on solo. And squading up and once we all survive till the end we give each the win

You bring a lot of joy when switching to old BF like BF1 and 5 , man these games will always be in my heart, i wish the devs actually take firestorm out as a standalone BR and develop it but this time makes it free to play for people instead when they introduced it , it will be sick as it always !

I had no idea this game mode existed. I've never played BF but I old of made the switch to play this. I was in blackout heavy and didn't even care about battle field. This looks amazing!

My all time favorite br besides the few bad things. Its a shame that it died. The time to game is just too long to play it regularly.

You need to rally all the KZread creators and streamers and do a 7 day hell week where everyone plays different titles 7 days in a row. Set it up so all the viewers can get in and play. Can’t ever find a Game, I never understood why it died, was best br in my opinion. Just pure bf but in br mode.

Firestorm gameplay itself is still my best ever experience of a battle royale. Destructive environments really make the difference in a BR.

Some of my all time favourite experiences gaming were in Firestorm

They should definitely put the firestorm map in BF2042, that would be an awesome addition to 128 player modes!
