Yeah, the iron shots were working well on this day. I played 2 shorter courses and did some range work prior to this round. It really paid off on the approach shots! Thanks for watching :-)

Well done James. A really enjoyable video again on a another course I’ve played on golf trips to North Wales. It’s interesting to hear how you manage your way around and it’s great to see someone else’s perspective of these courses as they play them - it’s surprising how different it looks from your point of view, but I guess that because you found the fairways more often than I did 😂. Super playing James. I suspect that start to the back 9 was a result of your excellent play on the front. We’ve all been there with the adrenaline rush from good play thinking we’re on for a stormer and then the game bites us in the ar*e! Overall great play that said… keep it up 💪

I never take any birdies for granted they are so hard to make. My App tells me I have a 4% birdie rate in my last 20 rounds which is good for me! THanks for watching George

A game of two halves today James!how often does that happen.Front nine barely put a foot wrong so many birdie chances and then back nine it went a little astray.Still striking the ball really well and on target.Well played again and hope you can keep posting even though winter is on the way.All the best!

@@notaperfectgolfer3489 just need the bunkers to have a little bit of a better shot out of them. Then it could lower your scores even more. But it’s been great watching so far. Can’t wait for some more. 👍🏻👍🏻

Whenever I film my rounds, there's always someone who asks what I'm doing, and it's always so tempting to tell them I'm taking my tripod for a walk. Of course, I tell them I'm filming my round for KZread, as you did in this video.

Great vid, you should come down to RSD’s in Harlech. A truly fabulous course.

I nearly played Harlech in Feb but didn't as they only had 17 holes in play. It's on the list and I'll play there soon enough! :-)

Great round and video . I’ve played North Wales on numerous times . Last time I played it in May I was really disappointed in the condition of he course . It was totally packed out and all the trolleys ect booked out . Think Maesdu has over taken NWGC now in course quality.

NWGC is more popular I think as it has the holes running along the beach.

Yeah, I was so in the zone that short putt missed on the 2nd didn't affect me one bit. It helps I really like the course so I was ecstatic just to be playing! :-)

The best I’ve seen you play James. Driving on point and what a front 9! Very consistent scoring.Take out the blow up hole and a few aggressive putts you can definitely break 80. Well played James! It was interesting to see how you played that course as I played it back in May and didn't get on with it very well, playing quite inconsistently, blobbing a few holes through bad play and finding the greens quite hard. Looked in good condition other than the long fairways as you said. You have inspired me to go back and play it again to see if I can do better! Not sure I'd pay £35 though. How would you compare it to Maesdu next door - which do you prefer and why?

Cheers Johnny, I like both courses but for different reasons. Maesdu is a really nice course and normally in amazing condition, plus the green fees are slightly cheaper for visitors. NWGC has the pure links feel and from the 5th hole onwards it's all top draw. I like both a lot and will continue to play them as often as possible. I'm yet to break 85 at Maesdu and I think it's the slighly tougher course out of the 2. I nearly played there today but ended up playing Northop instead for £18 which is a bargain. Really good round of golf but really just one bad hole. You are playing with confidence and skill.

I noticed that you have your left hand over the right for your putts. Have you tried that technique for chips?

I used to play 'cack handed' when I was young and then totally gave up when a club pro told me I was holding the club wrong! haha I only like left hand low for putting as it feels really alien for chipping. I don't know how Matt Fitzpatrick does it!

So what are the 1st 2nd and 3rd best golf courses in north wales

Hopefully the money you get from KZread more than covers any green fees enabling you to play on the pricier courses.

How long you been playing mate out of interest?? Looks a nice course but steep price at £35 pounds. Personally i think unless your are at st Andrews and a few other famous courses I don't see why any round of golf should ever be over £30🤷‍♂️.

Just over 2 years. I started taking golf more seriously in the spring of 2021 taking some lessons and things have been going well! I made an exception on this day and paid the high green fee as it was perfect weather and I really like the course. Thanks for watching :-)
