Playing $10-$20 in Las Vegas | Poker Vlog #66
Hey! My name is Mariano, and this channel was created to share some poker sessions and travel.
In this episode, I play some $10-$20 NL at the world famous Bellagio. Things don't really go as expected... which I guess is to be expected?

Sorry for the crap session bud but I have to say you’re so damn likable and easy to root for. It’s refreshing to see someone that comes across as genuine and kind in what tends to be a rather brutal environment. Wishing you the best Mariano!

meadydoheny. Have you been watching his channel for a while? Mariano as far as I can tell has consistently been winning and moving up stakes. Building up his bankroll. Sucks to take a shot at a bigger game and be card dead or run into big hands. At least he still showed it. That’s class in my books.
@meadydoheny

@@jagparhar260 well of course it's good to depict reality. Given his frequency of play and the cost of living, I still highly doubt poker is his main gig and I'm pretty sure he's admitted he's not a pro (for most people, that means poker isn't their main source of income). Ive watched all his vlogs and my assumption isn't one made to discredit him nor denounce the quality of content Tom Dwan was an exceptional cash game player with tremendous results on PAD and HSP...but I don't buy his "humble beginnings" story of "running up $50 on Party Poker"🙄 that story is pure ad-placement.
Love your vlogs man! Definitely my favorite poker vlogger. Just wish there would be more frequent content but keep doing what you’re doing!

Yours feels more honest and genuine than the other vlogs I watch. It's appreciated.
Pretty impressive that he showed without any editing of losing session in 10/20 which he jumped in for the first time. Hope your games to be improved in the future.
The video quality is incredible! And you know I love the "Straddle." shirt!
You're a brave man. Sorry for your loss, you'll get em next time. Thanks for the blog, great production value.
You did great in the next blog so that’s something. Amazing content. Great plays. I love how straightforward it is presented so thank you for that!

Great work Mariano. Really enjoyed it - the honesty and transparency in your narrative makes this must-watch vlogging. You will get them next time I'm sure. It is worth asking yourself if you want to sit in a game where "That guy over there is the only non-pro at the table". But if you're doing it for the right reasons and are staying within financial sanity, then plenty cool.
Your why poker videos have become so popular. Just so well done . Cudos for putting your money in a game where for lack of experience you are huge disadvantages. I am sure that won't last too long. Cant wait for next 10-20 vlog.
You have some massive balls to play 10/20. I’ve been playing for 3 years and am too scared to go beyond 2/5.

I give him credit, but it’s a lot easier to have balls than it is to do (mostly) everything right. I mean, considering everything, there’s always that possibility that it was foolish to play in this game. Everybody seems to give everybody credit for “shot taking “, but if it’s not perfectly in line with the way things should flow, it could be spewing.
I was waiting all week for this video and was hoping you would crush it, well there’s always next time! Goodluck and love watching your videos man!
Mario another really good vlog. I was rooting for you so hard. I was anticipating this vlog because of the jump in stakes. I respect your game and think you should try them again in that game. You will end up getting them. Keep pushing Brother and cant wait for the next one

Props to you bro, good seeing moving up the levels. Keep your head up and you'll beat the game eventually!
Always enjoy your "short films"! Your style of deciding to make a vlog before you play is cool. Triumph or tragedy, you show us what really happened on your poker journey. I have watched every one of your films, and I'll bet your bankroll is doing just fine. Maybe some day you can make a video on how you film, make notes, and put a video together if that info isn't secret.
Just subscribed as I really appreciate people who expose their mistakes, own them and draw conclusions. Kudos to you mate

Wow, that some serious "runbad"... That's so frustrating when you're taking a shot. Keep grinding my friend
Keep grinding brother. The first time i went up to 10/20 i was fortunate to have several winning sessions in a row and quickly added 25K to my roll. It gave me confidence going forward and 10/20 became my usual game. But i have had several soul crushing sessions and you just have to fight through it.. someone else commented correctly that it’s useful to just walk around or end a session prematurely now and then.
You gotta play closer to the vest, when stepping up like this. You also got to bet every time your ahead. Free cards kill stacks at this level.

Love watching these dire stakes bro!!
Vegas is where it’s at! No joke, 10/20 in Vegas is probably one of the hardest games to play in regularly too. Very few spots.
Congrats on staking up. Happens(ed) to me too everytime. Just gotta view it as "getting it out of the way," or with an analogy, hitting your shins with bricks to build the bone in mixed martial arts
Great vid as always. Sucks that you lost while shot taking but its very exciting seeing the higher stakes. Keep up the vids no matter what the stakes and we will keep watching!!!!
Your analysis that there is only one combination of QJ suited is brilliant. I know it’s tough in the moment, and I’m sure I don’t have to even say it, but it makes total sense that he has 99 in that spot given the preflop action. As you said, it’s only 77, 88, 99, 1010, really.
I truly like your poker blogs and admire your monologues as you explain each hand. That being said, I also think you speak quite eloquently; much more so than a poker player! And your abilities with the camera are good too! I think you should look into being a director or producer as apposed to being a poker blogger!!!
Hang in there buddy. Great vlog
Anybody that takes a shot moving up deserves my sub. It’s always the worst feeling to continuously brick every flop in these sessions.
Mariano love your videos and I'm glad you went for your goal of a bigger game. didn't see much bad play, just one of those dead card days, hopefully next time will be better. it would be cool if you could give a little rundown of who is at your table (whether they are known or you just give general descriptions), or describe the surroundings, something more than just "we're getting in a game, here's the first hand..." to help us viewers feel more in the moment with with you. just a suggestion. I love the production and photog quality of your video, keep it up and better luck next time

Nice growth in your playing. You’re doing very well. “Warning “ though... you need to avoid what is known as “winners tilt “ . It happens when you get a serious bump to your bankroll/ bad beat. Shake it off and focus. Get up take a short walk or end the session unless you’re up to playing through it. My longest session was 17 hours at the bike . Played through the bad of being stuck $1700 to winning $ 1400 . Then got up and cashed out.
Dude is legit movie director zone, channel well done gg
As always another great SHORT FIlM, always enjoy your vlog films. Nothing wrong with taking that up shoot in limits. Just too bad the session went the way it did. Wouldn't have been so bad if it had been a little of back and forth. Nothing wrong with the 2-5 or the 5-10 at the Bellagio to get that $ back.
Technically speaking mr pocket 3’s was the favourite in that all in. His offer to run it twice was actually quite polite. Your odds were about 46-54 give or take a rare split pot. Considering the stack that was already comitted though and any other seperate bets or dead money, You could have been getting good or better odds on your own money.
Love your videos keep it coming💪🏼sorry this session didn’t go as plan but u will get them next time

Hi Mariano: so you only ran it once on that last hand? After you flopped a set and he went runner runner flush, he prolly would have hit a 3 outer set on the 2nd board, but still... to reduce variance (as in your first run it twice hand) did you guys run it twice? Like your "Straddle." tee. I follow DGAF too... Chin up. Hope your next vlog is of a "sun run". Cheers.
This video was crushing!
Good stuff keeping it real Hey how do you tell who is a pro vs recreational player?
Chin up. You had some good players and some tough hands. I couldn't be so stoic about losing that much dough, so it's clear you know you'll be back. I think your odds will improve when we aren't five or seven handed post pandemic.
Heard someone once say, "When you jump up in stakes, you need to run good". Same happens to me all the time and don't get that run good. Props for the video!!!
@williamr4053

This is so true. You can play perfectly with all the right hands, and in what you believe are the right spots, but if you aren’t running good it can get bad in a hurry.
Great content! Keep believing in yourself and you'll climb the stakes ladder!! Hope to see you at the tables some day.
