This side mission is very well done. The crime scene speaks for itself, but you don't realize it because the woman puts pressure on you to take the body. But, if you look at the scene, in the room there are no signs of a fight, she says that he hit her and choked her (She has no signs of physical damage on her body) and that it was him or her. But the victim's corpse is in a sleeping position and (if I remember correctly) there was only blood on the victim's side of the bed. She kill him while he was sleeping. There's a glass of water on the bedside table. If you loot her, she has 3 oleander sage herbs... is a poisonous herb in the world of RDR2. The "Oleander Sage" is based on the "Nerium Oleander", a flower with toxic properties in real life. She probably tried to poison him, but he didn't drink the glass of water.

That’s just the level of detail they put into their games. That’s why rdr2 took 8 years to release and that’s why gta is taking 10+ years to release. I hope the immersion is on the level of this game. I hope we’re able to greet or antagonize npcs and I hope they keep the same fighting mechanics too because rdr2 fighting is way better than gta5

That's why RDR2 cost $400 million to make, but look at Skyrim or New Vegas, less than one tenth of RDR2's cost but with several times the details of dialogue and choices.

You missed the point. First time you see her, the dude she stabbed has a knife in the chest and she says it was self defense and Arthur kinda believes her. You're supposed to help/believe her. Second time she asks you the same thing but this time the guy has a knife in the back, so self defense is out the window and Arthur is suspicious.

Unfortunately this is one of very few possibilities to take a criminal to the sheriff. I tried to bring that lady who pretended to be wounded but turned to be a robber, tried to bring the guy who was robbing a pedestrian in Saint Denis. But both times I myself was arrested:(

To me it feels somewhat realistic because the woman in Valentine is known to have killed multiple men in "self defense", so the sheriff is prone to believing you.

yeah you gotta use common sense sometimes. One easy way to test it is tie that person up and see if NPCs react scared to you before you take them to the sheriff, if they don't react you should be fine. I can see why some people you meet should be taken in. You're not wrong for thinking so.

If the sheriff have no knowledge of wrongdoings of certain NPC its normal that he incriminates you, especially if the NPC that commit those crimes do it outside sheriff jurisdiction (ie inside his city) like in the roads, forest and etc.

One thing i hate is when you bring npc who tried to kill you to the sheriff, You will be accused of kidnapping like i'm literally bringing them to the sheriff. One particular example of this is the feller who robbed you in St. Denis in the clothing store.

@@qwertyrewtywyterty and this set of coding is complicated in particular, when you're in a cutscene and it gives you "A or B" options, that's different. But when the game is giving you ACTUAL multiple options in a given live scenario, and it has to react differently depending on what you do (for example "picking person up = no wanted AND = can take to sheriff for THIS cutscene vs- other options (could be many)). Thats complicated to code lol to us its all so Simple, to them its a TON of logic and mini math that they have to get perfect or it will give you a wanted level on accident. They think of these things all the time, it just takes so much more time to do something simple than you'd think, it just depends what you're trying to do.

The amount of dialogue for just one little NPC encounter is mind blowing.

Content Idea for you: Go to that Stranger who challenges you to Shoot Bottles & Birds, Before aiming your gun, Use Binoculars and aim, a funny dialogue will come 🤣✌️

Its interesting how after looting her, yoy get oleander sage, a plant used to craft toxic moonshine.

I never even bothered trying this, I figured the “law” ai was completely broken and you’d get a bounty for kidnapping considering what happens if you try to defend yourself when somebody starts shooting you in the face for bumping into them.

You can see that there is no sign of struggle for the guy there and seemed pretty relaxed in a sleeping position tucking a hand under the pillow. She might have got him in his sleep. I don't know for sure because I ain't no detective but if that's true. That's one damn impressive detail by the developers.

@@bestyoutubernonegraternumber1 As the Sherriff of a wild west townn, who are you gonna trust, the repeated "self defense" killer that has just murdered another and who has nothing to lose talking about how the person who turned her in was actually guilty too, or the good Samaritan who finally brought in her and gave you enough evidence to prosecute a case youve been unable to resolve for who knows how long.

You can also report this crime to the sheriff when you exit the crime scene. No matter if she is alive or not the sheriff comes to that place and picks her up.

I helped her in my first playthrough, but always felt I was missing something, so in my next playthrough I hogtied her and brought her to the sheriff. That was the right call! 🤠👍

I wonder if the rope can be shot/cut before she dies after you pull the lever, and if so I wonder if she'd have any dialogue for that or if she'd just run away.

Yeah I did watch the video of all the NPCs you can capture and bring to the law so when I encountered this woman I put her behind bars immediately ( for some reason I got a bizarre bug of two Sherrif sitting in the same chair and got a wanted level for taking the reward money)

Fun fact even of you dont turn her in she will eventually get caught and get hanged anyways

Right before pulling the lever, I would have looted all the other bodies.

I remember trying to turn her in on my second playthrough, only problem was I was wanted at the time and the lawmen attacked me.

I actually got suspecious when I got this encounter for the second time. So I went to sherif whith the body, and was cought off guard by his reaction when I told him what happened. He said: AGAIN!? I laughted so hard, man. All the way to the bank, so to speak, since they both payed me)

When this encounter happened to me the whole thing felt sketchy to me, so I followed her up there with the pump in my hands. As we both walked in and I saw the body I aimed at her then she proceeded to run off. I missed the whole bringing her in to the law situation of course, but still a few days later I encountered the scene where they let her swing.

Damn, I actually saw through her show and thought that she was a serial killer when I met her, so I scared her away with my gun when she took her knife out. But I had no idea, that you can tie her up and bring her to the sherrif... However, killing the sherrifs just to hang her by yourself was so unneccessary, bro 😂😂

after taking the girl bounty in valentine you can question the sheriff and theyll have a convo about how there are many murdering women in valentine, so thats even a waring for this encounter

Sooooo 👋👋👋 I had some similar happen and I had a random thought to see if I can turn NPC in to . I seen a guy ( random event ) shoot another guy and kill him . Tied him up and tried to take him to jail but then everyone started reporting a kidnapping . So I’m a lil confused how this one worked and mine didn’t

So, the game goes back to idle mode but not only do the devs not remove her from the gallows but have some dialogs and a hanging option going on? Odd choice. Could you have cut her loose as well?

I think i actually just went to the sheriff and told him about her and he went and arrested her for me😂😂

FYI there are TWO encounters with her where she needs help disposing of a body, assuming you helped her first time and didnt turn her in.. Later theres a third encounter where you can save her from her execution, or watch her be hung..

I helped her with the first one because it seemed a likely story for a prostitute to end up in and I sympathized. When she asked for help with the second one I knew what the deal was and took care of her

Very suspicious... she could've reported it to the town sheriff. So I helped out a little, and brought her to the sheriff.

I messed up the encounter... took too long to dump body and someone saw

I rejected her at the first place. Besides, she seemed very suspicious to me and I didn't wanna do her dirty work, so she tried to kill me.

In my first playthrough i helped her in the second i put her in jail.

I helped here, twice. Came across her being hanged a few days later in Valentine. She gets caught either way

I actually helped her 2 times but though it was just the game forgetting that I already had that encounter, lmao.

I didn't realize you could hang her.

I helped her but i couldn't bring myself to feed him to the pigs. I tossed him under a nearby tree and hoped somebody would find him. Couldn't decide what's best, so i gave it to the fate.

The second time is way funnier though. I helped her and feed the pigs, afterwards while she was cleaning I went to the sheriff and snitched on her ass.

I always help her. I figure it takes the heat off me for them killings and robbings and all that mayhem I done caused.
