Oh okay - i dont follow any social medias really - when i started, at the beginning of the tutorial, i had several little freezes and set all graphics to lowest and they still happened. My pc is pretty alright. Not super strong, but also far off the low end. That means that whatever i experienced there is a known issue and is supposed to still be improved, yeah? Sounds good.

Combat is so refreshing. IWT sounds so happy.

In any other action games, if a character has super ass long animation they're immediately called useless. But here it's actually really great as you have more time windows to do the double swap 👍

I've been using the swap mechanic for a funny quirk with Chixia and Aalto. Basically, I charge Chixia's bullets, swap to Aalto, use his skill to bring out his decoy, then swap back to Chixia and use her skill to unload all her bullets. It basically removes Chixia's one weakness if needing an opening, since the boss will focus on Aalto's decoy It's probably not the best use of the swap mechanic but I feel incredibly smart for thinking of it, since I use both characters anyway

All that switching makes this looking like a crazy Marvel vs Capcom game throwing assists everywhere. Absolutely love it.

Why do I think 2 more characters as slow as Encore would abuse the absolute heck out of Triple Swap Backs. It'd probably look insane as hell and require FGC-like skills combined with Souls-like control to even execute, let alone master.

As someone that has played Fighting Games for over 28 years, no, this doesnt come even close to that, not even in the same dimension, specially because this is PVE and enemies will always have predictable patterns It does require good timing tho, and the good thing is that combat is done client-side, so, "lag" or "high ping" wont be an issue that prevents you from actually doing these techs, anyone will be able to do them (as long as their device can handle it)

Saying it requires FGC skills is a stretch, however, it is still pretty hard to learn to the average player. The next level would be mouse directional inputs, rhythm-like skills (like sanhua forte) and actual inputs to do skills. The combat is actually decent, I see future in it, I seriously hope they add more intricate things to it though.

For those of you who play Genshin, think of swapping back as the tech where you can use alhaitham’s burst, then swap to Kuki for a quick skill, and then swap back and still get all your mirrors

This is easily my fav part of Wuwa combat I like PGR but 15 sec cd for switching is such a pain in the ass while genshin 1 sec CD+ping reliant switching is super pain as well while Wuwa switching is not only smooth, it is a core feature with very high skill ceiling for mastery, I love it!

From what I've seen in Wuthering Waves, high skill seems to mean nothing in the endgame. I'm F2P and I can one-shot everything on the map, including bosses, with suboptimal characters and builds. Imagine when I get full gear and good compositions. I believe people won't even bother dodging because it's a loss of DPS. Jianxin already has a shield, so if they introduce a character with interruption resistance in their kits, dodging and parrying would be mechanics that nobody would use. I killed a monster level 120 in 25 seconds with characters level 40 with 4 star echoes without substats. They really need to reconsider their approach to the game because while it seems promising at the start, the more players invest in their characters, the more evident its flaws become.

Great video. It's good to see the fighting game mechanics from origin games like Naruto Storm being explored and showcased by more creators in WuWa. This helps create another barrier between players who want to enjoy the game casually (left click to win) and the players who want to mint-max and display high execution skills. I don't know if someone already mentioned, but Jianxin is another one. You can cast her parry and swap, she will stay in the position ready to parry and can even actually "parry" a boss (the universal mecanic). I do not test this with her stacked heavy attack but i'll try later

If someone is experiencing really big performance issues, try switching your graphic settings to different and than back to your usual. Somehow it works for me (for some reason I developed a habit of keeping my Task Manager opened, and I noticed that WuWa makes HDD with itself work at 100% constantly, but after that trick with graphics HDD working time drops and jumps to 100% only when loading new assets. also, my graphics were Low on default, but my PC handles Advanced completely normal)

Yeah it fuggs hdd very hard.. My 10year old HDD really struggle.

Swap cancel has saved me so many times due to the short i-frame it gives, I have major skill issues and most of the times I burn out my stamina due to unnecessary dodging or wrong timing at doing it. Swap cancel not only gives a small i-frame to the character being swapped out but also slightly moves the position of the incoming character, that is so useful when you accidentally ran out of stamina while needing to dodge a specific attack. Lastly I hope you also make a video about abusing intro and outro skills to dodge and i-frame attacks lmao. Seems like WuWa gives players so many cool and flashy ways of avoiding damage than just basic dodging

I was initially trying for calcharo but after getting encore i love her playstyle and im sticking to her now. Also, after playing MC and other chars, holy damage, she is so strong, i have like a lvl 1 weapon on her and she still smacks everything early.

This is exactly the thing I was looking for! Thank you for showing us and do feel extremely supported on continuing your swap/cancelling shenanigans and showing us your discoveries!

Parry dodge swap looks so freaking cool since the character you switched from is in parry slow mo and stays on the field for a while, especially Sanhua , in mid air exposing her cake ... I love this game

This isnt new for pgr players this is basically what we do in phantom pain cage and you can actually mix it up with more combo dynamics now

Oh so that's why yangyang with rover feels very fast to play, cause i was just constantly swapping between them and baizhi

Yeah I c why ppl are struggling on mobile. I spent 30 minutes straight customising the settings where I’ve optimised the graphics to be moderately high and run the game at 60 fps without crashing or lag. N the game still looks pretty good to play instead of low graphics such as low shadow n stuff.

Yesss i love complex tech like this, makes the game combat system much more versatile. Imagine the combos if we already had more roster.. 🤯

Yea calcharo loves this because his heavy attack takesblike 2 seconds. You got time to heavy, swap, skill (depending on who you swap to), swap back to calcharo its crazy

Im using iphone 14 and I still f struggle pressing the attack button and now you’re telling me to do a whole circus combo😭😭

I abused this using Echoes with super long animation such as the 3 headed bird, Aero Gorilla, etc. This is vital because I have built my Mortefi, so when I ult with him, swap to new char with outro, echo, back to mortefi, back to the character that used echo then do the hits. This save me 2 or 3 sec of mortefi ult.

My square shaped brain now needs guided drills to master this awesome tech

I love fighting games and this tech is something you would find in them. I use a encore,verina,sanhua team. I reckon i could pull off this combo: Sanhua e -> encore e -> verina e -> finish ecnore e. I wish there was some kind of dummy training ground where people could practice these kind of techs/skills

I was sad having multiple main dps 5* but after investing some time into trying to find some swap combos, the combat is so much more fun and satisfying :D

This tech could have interesting effects on team comps in the future, especially for characters with long attack animations since they become invincible. I can imagine a triple dps comp being viable in endgame for the absurd dps and energy generation from having multiple characters spamming attacks at once. Hotswap meta could be interesting since it really depends on player skill and a deeper knowledge of your 3 characters besides what it says on paper.

i just tested this swap thing with best girl(danjin), and the time between her enhanced heavy attack and her follow-up enhanced normal attack is quite long. i was able to switch to mortifi use a skill and still manage to switch back to preform the follow-up enhances normal attack on best girl

If you're playing Honkai Impact 3rd, that swap mechanic in WuWa makes no difference it is almost same as the QTE system in Honkai. In honkai you can have atleast 2 valkyries on field to do combo attacks. It's nice WuWa had applied this type of fighting mechanic in their game though

I am honestly amazed by how creative kuro games were at creating this combat system I pray this game is only gonna continue to expand in years to come

I can already see a competitive scene with this game like how genshin does the tournament for fastest clear time tourney its gonna be hype

I love mechanics like this one, it gives the game more depth and makes the combat more fluid and rewarding. Kuro has raised the bar high with this one.

Da Vinci even in this game 😅 4-Piece Set When QTE is triggered, triggers another character's QTE. 8s cooldown. If there are 3 characters on the field, ATK is increased by 20%.

Hmmm if i use the multiple head bird boss skill and then swap cancel: does the 10 resonance energy goes to the equipper? Or on the current character? Or no gain?

Just wanted to point out that at least Encore during her heavy attack swap cancel is NOT invincible. She once died while I was in a Tower of Adwhateveritiscalled challenge.

I have like 200+ ms on Wuthering Waves and I've never had a swapped character on cooldown prompt despite a noob rotation while on Genshin I always get that prompt whenever I have a high ping

I play encore/rover/bai and if i press buttons right bosses just melt. Encore do some insane damage with outro skill. This teck fit her so much. Encore fire set, rover energy set, bai heal set.

I got Encore in my first 10 pull of this game..😅

Found this video after I forced myself to learn this on my own after noticing that calcharo's enhanced charged attack didn't cancel when I swapped... this would've made that a lot easier to make sense of instead of hours of practicing combos

Im glad someome is bringing this to light. This makes and breaks a good player, a casual, and a god player. Swap techs at the right time also grants invincibilitiy/counters, you also can do insanely long combos while doing this tech playing with cds of other resonators+echos. This is also a MUST for Calcharo with Yinlin, even with the nerfs i'd argue he is the strongest dps in the game still when properly used with his long animations and passive buffs of intro and outro skills, which requires swaps. I clear my world bosses in such little time doing this. And if you have a healer, mistakes are more forgiving if you are swapping their heals in rotation.

so that's why some of the skill description says "nearby ally" rather than "next ally switching"

Time to go ham with this on mobile, it working overtime now. Tested it out with calcharo and rover on mobile I for the life of me could not succeed half the time with the swapback.

Funny how they were considering to remove this tech after cbt2. Glad that they kept it instead.

i think sanhua have a lot to do with this tech cause she might be able to do that everytime she Burst (the perfect heavy attack)

As more and more characters get added, these mechanics will just become more apparent Also, im sure some chars will not only be able to do this too, but will actually be designed and balanced around the very fact that this is posible

Looks like a tag/assist mechanic in Marvel VS Capcom

While it looks like a really cool tech, I don't really see much practical uses behind it. For one a lot of buff like Mortefi discourage constant swaps as they buff the next character and dissipates upon swapping. Another issue is that intro and outro skills are really strong. Some characters like Taoqi feels extremely slow without it. This tech clashes with that playstyle. It's arguably better to stay on field and build up concerto energy then swap. These two factors makes it really difficult to find a good scenario where swapback can work besides potentially as a fight opener

This tech is actually used in the highest dps team Yinlin + Calcharo in the second beta on CN (I think the showcase is still on bilibili). This basically works since Calcharo's first combo of ult (heavy attack+plunge) is such a long animation that you can actually swap to ult with Yinlin and then back to Calcharo so that his ult state doesn't expire. This team also works better since you don't really need to click another button to finish his combo, so you really just need to swap back to him (compared to Rover and Encore in this video). Tldr; yeah no it is a legit tech that can be used quite effectively, though with certain characters that have a long string of animations. Considering that we are only on the 1.0 version with limited characters, I believe there will be other upcoming characters that can make use of this tech well

Honestly thank god there are different play styles… imagine this same gameplay being the most optimal because people that can’t play it on systems like phones that can’t run the game properly would be screwed

If you tap Jianxins skill and swap she stays on the feild to for a very long time

Is ping will be a issue like when u al haitam ult and quickswap kuki ele skill and back to haitam....

With older games with similar concept like MVC3, this is simply easy.

calcharo generates a lot of energy and can abuse his outros this way during his heavy attack swap cancelling.

to people saying they're on phone, because of my immense cope and desire to have a slight advantage in the game, i found out that this is COMPLETELY possible to do on phone, and consistently too takes a while to practice though, i recommend practicing on bosses you find easy
