This tenor is in overall great shape! It is free from any major denting and the neck remains pull down free. This horn has an older but very clean and sealing set of pads that have been gone through by our shop to ensure proper seal from top to bottom. It is set up extremely nicely and the action is feeling snappy and crisp! This horn is gig ready and to be loved by its next owner!
From Selmer’s Website:
The Series III tenor integrates many qualities of the previous models. Its main characteristic is its immense playing flexibility, significantly reducing the difficulties caused by the natural inertia of the tenor.
True to the spirit of the Series III family, this tenor is an easier instrument to play, which allows the saxophonist to “find” and develop their own sound more quickly.
It is enjoyable to play, with a generous low register and easy subtones.
Excellent response, amazing accuracy and balanced ergonomics create a close relationship between the musician and the instrument.

Wish my III sounded as amazing as that! 😂
👍
John, I'm not sure if it's purely coincidence or possibly the killer setup you did on this III, but this was the fastest I've ever heard you play a tenor. That III is sonically awesome with a GREAT compact character! Professional players I have worked with prefer the III over any well set up Ref 54.
For a series 3 it sounded great! I test played one in gold lacquer and one in black lacquer. I ordered my black lacquer Yamaha 82Z instead.
Hey John! Hope all is well Sounds great brother!!
So happy you played a ser3 😁 I have one and love it, although I don't play it enough. But the ser3 seems to get such a bad wrap in the general saxophone community. But considering they were in production way longer than a mk6 you never seem them for sale on the used market. That has to tell you something about these horns.
Hey is it just me or you start all tenor tests on a G?? Great sound and great horn by the way!!
What mouthpiece and reed do you use. I love your tone.
I love Selmer Series 3 Tenor I really need it I love that sound I want to get before I could get Rich and get $5,000.
