    Facts, it takes a few rounds to start to click in, but definitely worth it. Also use the simplified Premiera rule if that helps (meaning whom ever has the most seven's get the point). The game Rubbamazzo ( kzread.info/dash/bejne/gqJ6y5Kdfsi8hpc.html ) is a much more simplified version as well. Good luck!

    I'd say that is a very common thought about the game, even with frequent players. My suggestion would be to skip the official way of counting Primiera and do it in the Sicilian/Tunisian style: whoever has the most Sevens wins Primiera. If it's a tie it's whoever has the most 6's. If it's still a tie, no one gets the Primiera point that round. I've found this is the best way to play to keep the game moving.

    It seems that every country has a card game of this kind. Somebody in the comments mentioned American Casino. In Bosnia we play a game called "Žandari" (Žandari = Jacks). It's played with 52 card deck, 4 cards are placed on the table and each player is dealt 4 cards. A game is played by picking up cards as same as in Scopa. The difference is that you don't get extra points for sweeping the table but Jacks have a power of doing that. So regardless of the nubmer of cards on the table and their number, a Jack can take them all. Jacks, Queens and Kings do not have a number value. Points are given as follows: 1) One point for each club collected 2) One point for more cards collected 3) One point for a two of clubs ("little two") 4) One point for a ten of diamonds ("big ten")

    Wow this so interesting. Thanks for sharing Zandari, I hadn’t ever heard of it before. It reminds me of the scopa variation scopa d'assi aka asso pigliatutto (the ace takes all). The ace acts like the Jack in Zandari, in as far as it clears the pot. Thanks so much for keeping the knowledge alive!

    Question - when players have exhausted the cards in their hands, and they are dealt 3 new cards each, if there are no cards on the floor are 4 more cards laid down by the dealer or does the first player to go throw a card down to the empty floor?

  • @Play-In-Games

    @Play-In-Games

    Жыл бұрын

    Great question. The one and only time the dealer places face up cards in the middle is on the very first hand. If a new hand is started and there are no face up cards, the player to the right of the dealer must place one of their new cards face up in the middle, just as you mentioned. Thanks for watching!

    So I was taught by a Sicilian so the differences might be down to that. Queen =8 jack=9 king =10. And she said that was because in ancient times sexisim was rampant and the king's man at arms (jack) was more highly esteemed than the queen. Also 1 point was given for most 7's.

    Very interesting. The Sicilian deck is one of the few with Fante (Knaves/Jacks) who are female. That could be what your friend was referencing? In all likelihood the Sicilians had suited court cards before the rest of Europe since they were closer to the Arab world and had more access to their trade routes. They wouldn't have had the French court cards (J-Q-K) until later than the UK or USA since they kept the 40 card deck. But who really knows?! Thanks for checking out the videos!

    In italy you can decide to reach 16 or 21 points to win and also there is another point counter that's called maratona: if u get The Ori/diamonds in order (at least 3) u get 3 points for the 1,2,3 of Ori and if u get more cards in order u get another point. This is normally used in Napoli

    How does someone organize a score sheet for the scopas, coins, cards, sette bello AND the separate calculation of the primiera? Is there a pdf available? Does the same person keep score, the dealer do this for each player on each hand or does each player calculate it for himself (and trust that he gets it correct)? What are the mechanics of keeping score?

  • @Play-In-Games

    @Play-In-Games

    @@Play-In-Games Hi, there are a couple of differences , the game usually ends at 21 ( or any increment of 10 upwards) depends on how long you want to play . Jacks are 9s Queens are 8s. A scopa is counted on the value so anywhere between 10 and 1, so you play to leave the least scopa for your opponent. Primeria (we call it Bremila) is counted on who has the most 7s and 6s only, which i think was to simplify the count. player with most cards gets 1 point 7 of diamonds gets 1 point
