I would not recommend bouncing a cricket ball on the edge like that. If you have any knowledge about cricket bats and willow in general, you would know that bouncing a hard cricket ball on the edge like that will, in all probability, press the wood at the edge into the face, causing premature delamination of the willow near the edge. Not to mention the seam marks on that soft edge surface due to you bouncing the ball off of it.The edge surface perpendicular to the face has no pressing and is softer compared to the face. And that you would do this just to show off your ball tapping skills on a brand new bat you intend to sell to some poor customer who might not be aware of this blows my mind.

​@@cricketmerchantIt takes only a few misplaced taps close to the edge with such a hard ball to start the onset of delamination. I can confidently say i know more than you in this regard, and your silly one month comment is shocking at the least. How have you been selling bats this long? How many seam marks are on that edge already? Care to share a pic and show everyone what you have done to the edge surface of that pristine new bat?

@@SimSingh Appreciate your concern however kookaburra ball and that too for less than 30 second is not going to damage the bat. Difference between tapping vs spanking is on the feel ;)

@@cricketmerchant My concern is not for you, but for the poor customer who will end up buying this blade. I never said the damage would be immediate, but that in all probability, this would start the onset of delamination (assuming you know what delamination of willow is). That said, would you pay full price if I tried to sell you such a blade with seam marks along the perpendicular edge surface?

@@SimSingh I would based on this video. I knock hundred of bats each year and a tap here of their in not going to damage the bat. You are alarmed as if something really bad has happened in those 30 second. Paji tusi fikar na karo. All is well and like most of our customers know we take care of them like no other in industry.
