Many thanks David. I've been following you for years. One question: what about arranging and playing when a person sings? For eg., how might we approach How Long Blues if we were to sing it? Perhaps you've cover this in the past and I missed it. And my playing has definitely improved with your teaching, so thanks again David.

Glad you're enjoying the lessons! This exact topic is definitely on the docket this month in the Fingerstyle Five membership. But, short version, you can start by just leaving out the fingers (the melody), then start putting in chord hits on the offbeats (the "ands"), or playing short blues licks/fills in between the lyrics.

I’m playing it on a 12 string…baritone ..tuned down to a C (1 1/2 steps) and it sounds great…slower BLUES songs on a 12 string sound great..McTell great? Thanks Dave!

Thank you for teaching me how to think. Perhaps when I get my thumb working I will sell a guitar and put the money into your classes. I do have two questions: how dependent on reading tabs is your teaching? I can,but with difficulty as I am legally blind and I am waiting this with my manager in hand. And, I suppose this also works for minor blues? I have been playing around with a Blind Willie Johnson tune,"ain't nobody's fault but mine" Thanks again

There is a lot of tab, but I do provide videos for nearly all of the examples and there are three live streams a month where I walk through most if not all of the material in a fair amount of detail. All past songs/lessons remain available to anyone with a membership subscription, including "Nobody's Fault But Mine" and the minor blues tunes "Motherless Child," "St. James Infirmary," "Wayfaring Stranger" "Catfish Blues" and "House of the Rising Sun."

David, I appreciate your reply and I will give this due consideration. I know what I need and I am certain that you are able. I only read in bits. Tab included. You should be perfect for me. I will check my resources and my ability to read Tab I thank you again.
