Plate Carrier Review (Technical): CRYE PRECISION JPC 2.0 Overview

This is a technical plate carrier review of the Crye Precision JPC 2.0. Widely regarded as the reference standard when it comes to minimalist plate carrier design, the JPC 2.0 by Crye Precision was a pioneer and ushered in the era of modern plate carrier design with which we have all become so familiar. The question is: has it stood the test of time?

I know this is an older vid on the Crye JPC 2.0. It is still the best review done on the JPC. Solid video with a ton of applicable information. If your still looking to find that right plate carrier this will definitely help you either to get a JPC or not.

There is a way to put the ice plate on the inside of the 2.0 you can use the spare single strap cummerbunds that you get and use that buckle on the rear plate bag to hold one the right side of the ice plate same thing with the left side and tighten it down and not it won’t move up and down or side to side while you’re wearing. Remember just because it doesn’t have native support it doesn’t mean you can’t find a way to make it work

The JPC 2.0 is iconic for a reason: it is an excellent design and the data supports this conclusion.

You could shoe goo those cooling plates inside the jpc in a couple minutes. Or shoe goo Velcro in there

The 511 Tac Tec has a great QR system as well. Not certain if it's patented, but I can pull the "key" from my chest and the damn thing drops to the deck. The JPC2 looks like it has 2 connections you have to use to get out of it in a, hey let's get in the drink, scenario (10:17). If you run a JPC2, are you locked into the zipper-system that Crye offers?

Qore needs more carrier size ranges. Options for larger plates are not ideal with the current product line.

Anyone else feel that the mags are a tad to high that is if u install mag pouches so that they don't hang one MOLLE level below the bottom of the plate / plate carrier

And does anyone have any reasons that they'd rather not have mag pouches hang one MOLLE level below the bottom of the plate bag

If u watch him reload u can see he's gotta come up a decent amount and then come back under the rifle where as if it's a tad lower u can pull your mag out flip and shoot it up into the rifle. I feel it to be smoother and faster. And I don't see a concern with the mag pouches hanging down a inch
