Sending a note of encouragement from North Carolina USA! It's hard to find farriers here who consider anatomy and lots of alternative methods and therapies, so supportive of all you are doing!

They Look great be interesting to see how they cope with the winter weather now here and their durability after 4/5 or 6 weeks when you next go there. Be good to see the follow up video 👍🏼

I have actually done a follow up 3 series video on a formahoof application that we applied on a ex racehorse. the wear of this material is very much dependant upon you local terrain and the amount of exercise.

Great video demonstrating updated technology in helping correct hoof problems . I suggest wearing silicon gloves to keep possible cancer causing WD40 nd other residues from entering your blood stream through your skin.

I love that she's now got some sweet shoes she can enjoy though it would have been wonderful if we could have seen her walking or running happily in a field enjoying what that talented dude did for her.

This is such an excellent and informative video! I'm interested in FH, but their website leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to the actual application. This is really helpful. Thank you so much for posting it for us.

How did the improvement in the lateral toe affect her leg structures, i.e. tendons, ligaments, etc.? Looks pretty great but wonder about the functionality. Thanks for the demo.

First and foremost, thank you for all your formahoof videos and information! You are an excellent instructor and exceptional farrier! I have two OTTBs that I recently brought over from the UAE to Italy. Both are having hoof problems that they didn't have in the UAE given the change in climate, etc. I'm planning on applying formahoof to them both to allow their hooves time to properly grow out. They're both barefoot and I'm hoping to keep them barefoot. One thing that they both have now is thrush. I have to start treating it as it's become an issue even with daily hoof cleaning and clean boxes. I watched your video on thrush treatment and would like to know if you would recommend using copper sulfate with the formahoof?

When you encase the hoof in resin moisture builds up in there how do you prevent the hoof from literally rotting? because I've had nothing but bad luck encasing the hoof in resin, when I use the resin it's very temporary and the horse has to stay in the stall in dry shavings to keep moisture out as much as possible

Hi Alex, are you moving to a preference to barefoot? I’ve really missed your videos, I’ve learnt a lot from them.

You cannot deny the benefits of barefoot that's for sure. I do however work in an industry where horses require hoof protection for many reasons. Having a good and balance understanding and preference allows you to be able to provide the best hoof care management for those horses within your care. I do not believe their is a rule or belief that one size fits all and each is treated individually.

@@AlexRidgewayFarrier that is a good response ☺️. I have just missed your shoeing videos but noticed the last few new ones have been tailored more toward barefoot ☺️. At the moment I’m missing shoes on my horse. I’ve moved him barefoot and using hoof boots. He’s just fallen over on a badly maintained byway and I’ve sprained my ankle. Wouldn’t be laid up on the sofa in agony if he had been wearing metal shoes. Sometimes can’t do right for doing wrong in life.

The owner of the horse must have more money than sense I’m very sure an ordinary shoe would have solved that problem farriers this day and age just like to complicate things
