Plastic Factory by Captain Beefheart | Guitar Lesson
Музыка
Some twisted blues from Mr Van Vliet. Awesome riffage from Ry Cooder (and maybe Alex St. Clair Snouffer + Russ Titelman??).

Dude I swear anytime I look up a lesson for songs I don't think there will be videos for I find your channel. Keep up the good work!
I don't play guitar, but I want to say thank you all the same. You pick out so much of the music I like - Beefheart, Velvets, Bowie, Iggy, Syd Barrett, even Sleigh Ride by the Ventures - and it helps me to appreciate the music even if I will never play it. Thanks.

Awesome choice! Everything off of Safe As Milk is gold
I fell in love with your playing when I first seen this video. In fact it was one of the deciding factors of taking lessons from you.
Clearest and most economic tutor I’ve come across on KZread. Thank you.
This is greatest gift I have ever received. Thank you for doing this.
Good to HEAR YOU PLAY ,and Explain your guitar lesson,s.🎸😎🎵

Excellent !! I had this one figured out (mostly) but you filled in the missing bits. Thank you !!
Great video, covered all the basics and showed us where to put the solo if we wanted a go at it.

Awesome video! Thanks for sharing. Love Captain Beefheart. Tabs are hard to find! 👍👍
Thank you, i love it (Velvet Underground, Stooges and the Captain) ❤️🎸 your Channel is so good, and, you have a lot of empathy, i find it easy, to learn with you 🎸🧠❤️
Thank you for this lesson. (Zig Zag wanderer is another fine song from this album.....hint hint). Thank you for your generosity in sharing your passion.
Best Ever, Thanks For This........
You have such great range of lessons nobody else chooses to do. This one is fairly easy to learn (learning and playing well are two different things!) even for a technically challenged guy like me. But I love the little soloing at the end and wish you could teach us that as well. It's going to take me some time to figure it out. It really makes the song.

Thanks - glad you liked it. Yes, the solo is pretty loose and improvised so it'd be hard to teach it properly. It's always a good exercise to figure stuff out yourself even if it takes a while. I often use the speed control to slow stuff down and isolate bits when I'm working things out off KZread, so that might be worth a try.

Blimey! I didn't even know about the speed control on KZread! I thought one would need something like Transcribe! to do that. That makes it a whole lot easier to figure out riffs and solos. Thanks for the tip!!!
@acpg

Yep, it's a useful trick, though I'll still always use Transcribe if I want to get really serious!
that middle off beat part is soooo hard dude, ive been practicing all night & it still throws me off

Right, right The Mascara Snake. Fast and bulbous. Who even does Captain Beefheart lessons on KZread? Actually it looks like Eric Haugen, who I already subscribe to, and you. Let the doo dads fly man!
Damn, I believe you got it there, Junior.

Aww yeah!
Thanks for not just posting a great accompaniment to “Plastic Factory” (A record I paid $2000 for a while back.. Must show how much I love it..) but also for explaining it for a relative beginner.. Fine stuff!! More Beef Art pleeeeze!

I was weened on Beefheart. I started seeing his concerts at 16 in '71 until 1980 when he did his last concert in the NY area. Perhaps 10 shows over that time. My crew would wait outside after the show to try to chat him up. He was good that way--at least being nice and throwing us a Beefheartism.

That's great - would have loved to have seen him live!

The fist time I saw him he was on a triple bill as the middle act. The first act was an unknown named Billy Joel. Jay Geils headlined. Beefheart ruled the night--no Ry Cooder but Zoothorn Rollo, Winged Eel Fingerling, Rockette Morton. Beefheart was still at his most avant garde. Cheers, love your playing and teaching. And doing Beefheart gets you pantheon points. Jim
Great Lesson. Please do some more Beefheart( Zoot Horn Rollo, Winged Eel Fingerling)
@acpg

Yes, will try and do more in the future. Zoot Horn Rollo is a favourite of mine, so maybe something featuring him would be fun.
Hi. Can you recommend any more songs similar to this? I want something jam along like that isn’t too hard to play or remember. I’m interested in playing on the street but worried about forgetting the notes cos of nerves so looking for jam like tracks to cut my teeth
Any chance we could get the backing track you played over in the intro?
Brilliant Adrian, could we please have Observatory Crest from Bluejeans And Moonbeams as well. You will? Great, looking forward to it. Cheers.

@acpg

Yes, I try to mix up styles and periods as much as I can to keep things interesting and so I don't do too much of any one thing. More '50s stuff is probably overdue though. I'll see what I can do!
Trout mask replica songs please
Now for something off Trout Mask Replica! ;-)
