I finally did this and got my boxes on Amazon. I got tired of doing makeshift solutions for a box that is not full and my books started to slide around. Great review!
Ima believer as well!! I bought my first one last month and I LOVED it!!! I'm in the process now of changing all my cardboard boxes to these.
I just got back into comics last year. I’m slowly upgrading my collection. I buy a BCW bin and about 100 Mylar bags a month until I get everything upgraded. 👌 I love this bin. Nothing epic, but there’s just something about it.
I’d happily pay extra if they could somehow put graphics around the box
It's funny cause I don't even bother with the cardboard stuff anymore. Just have like 10 short boxes of the plastic bins. So good! Also love the jimi hendrix national anthem
Those BCW plastic short boxes are the only boxes I use. Got 14 of em 😁
Wish I had the money to spend on those, but I'm spending it on comic books right now. For now, I use old towels and t-shirts to fill the void.
They’re pricey compared to regular cardboard boxes, but in my opinion they’re so worth it. They’re sturdy and durable and I also ordered some more dividers for my books inside.
Got 2 of the cgc BCW storage bins. LOVE THEM! Putting my first one together I was a little nervous I was gonna break it but it sealed together really well. I'll never buy a cardboard one again.
I found that the cardboard boxes with characters on nice look but cheaply made. They can't take stacking. After time the glue joints give out. I hot glue many for repair. The standard BCW short whites are superior and the BCW plastic is the best of the line.
Not too long ago, one of my normal cardboard comic boxes started falling apart. Then, I thought, "what if I use some of my stimulus money to get the stackable, sturdy plastic boxes?" That way, there won't be cardboard getting unglued and I'd make more room for my comics 😁 I'm so excited to get a bunch of these soon!

Absolutely!
I am in the process of reorganizing to shot boxes from. Long boxes, the cardboard kind, which made for easy storage in some shelving I got at Ikea called Kallax! I think those upgraded plastic ones would fit too!
I started purchasing these bins last year. I like the looks and the functions that they bring. I slowly plan on swapping out from cardboard for these bins. This video just made me realize what a sound decision this is.
I like what you have and the long box Good comic books and everything else thank you so much for sharing that for us and I hope you and your brother are having a wonderful night and day with all your family members and friends thank you so much
Thanks for the information. I wanted to know where did you get your t shirt, wall art and the pictures on your tv?
What to do with the void inside your half full box? Buy more comics!!!
These are awesome. Bought my first about a year ago for top loaders. They fit snug, but do fit. Liked it so much I bought another regular and a slab size.
Great shirt! Love those bins and am slowly converting over. They're definitely cheaper on Amazon and at some point I just need to buy them in bulk directly from BCW. To your first point about filling the void in short boxes. Few years ago I bought two mongo-sized packs of Charmin Ultra Soft toilet paper @ Sams Club. Turned out that it clogs our toilets. So a bunch of my partially filled short boxes contain multiple rolls of TP holding up my books. Lemons meet lemonade.
Love mine! Two short boxes and one for my slabs. Hope this video gets more people in the fancy bin game
I love mine.
I have the 3 types I know about, comic, magazine, comic graded size. Now I think these are great so far but they need to come out with the magazine graded size already. I didn’t need one till the Last Ronin dropped and I got that slabbed up, I wanted to get them their own box and picked up the other 3 boxes, looking for one to house my magazine graded books. I have to tilt the slabs on the side, but they fit best in the graded bin.
I love them. If you buy them in a 5 pack directly from BCW I think they come out to about $23 per box. For a while Amazon had the 5 packs for $100 (so $20 a box for my math challenged friends out there lol). Honestly they are only a few more dollars per box than the cardboard ones with the fancy art, and totally worth the price difference. And if you're worried about them falling apart you can use a little JBWeld or some other epoxy in all the connection points when assembling it to make them rock solid.
Great product. All my books are stored in them. A BCW Top Loader fits in the slot on the front and back where he said you can put an index card.
When he said hit the like button the like button lit up. Crazy.
I have 1 and love it. I keep my keys in it. My only complaint is that I have them sitting on carpet so when I pull the bin towards me the front of the bin tends to come apart so I have to completely lift the box but I’m sure with none carpet flooring there is no issues but it’s not enough to deter me from picking up another box.
These things are legit, got 3 for my keys. I'm getting a few more soon but getting extra dividers, the one it comes with is great but def want at least 2 in every bin.
Great Video! Yes I been juggling the idea of getting one to try out. The price is pretty steep but for the quality and protection you get I'm sure it's worth it. So I might start with one and use it to store my most valuable and favorite books in it, for the added protection. The use of that divider is obviously a no-brainer.

I’m pretty new to buying comics. Only have a little over 100, I didn’t even know enough to know that they are on the expensive side.
I have a question, can this bin also store doujins (doujinshi) as well? They're basically like self published Japanese comics, novels, magazines and other content.
They look great it would just cost so much for us. 10k and constantly growing collection. Cool video
Good review, didn't even realize they had lid locks 👍
These are the only thing I’ll use- i’ve got the long boxes and the graded book boxes.. Love the handles, stacking and locking capabilities.. they are pricey, but if you don’t abuse them, they’ll last a lifetime.

Agreed!!!
My solution is a box inside a box friend.....then they made the plastic boxes......ohhhhhhh boy. I went broke 💔
That's all I use. All of my books are in BCW comic bins. I love them! They stack up really well, I go 3 high with no problem. I'm sure I could go 4 high, but 3 is good enough for me. Great video
Watch out. Man this looks all professional and awesome review Dustin an love the editing 🤘🏼 #ComicVatosLocosForever
If I have a short box with room inside I will use those small flat rate boxes that are free at the post office and just assemble it and slide it into my comic box to hold the books up. 🙂
You might want to shop around a bit, my man. I'm in Canada and I buy these for $25 Canadian each. That's about $18 US Dollars.
I love my BCW plastic boxes. The only problem I have with mine are, they can get really heavy. I have my entire Amazing Spider-Man run in 11 BCW plastic boxes and 2 BCW slab boxes. All of the rest of my comic collection are in the regular BCW cardboard boxes.
Thanks for the review I need this in my life
I use the plastic boxes for my crème de la crème of my collection. If there’s a house fire, that’s the box I’m running out the house with.
Getting my first one soon at $30 a piece they are not terrible, I like the look and functionality. Thanks for the video!!!
I have one for slabs and a long box for my other comics. Ready to purchase one of each in the near future.
They just started making them in red
I use a top loader to keep ‘‘em from tipping forward but I’m definitely gonna check out one of these BCW plastic bins
Can you do a review of the wood comic box with lid, sold on Amazon . And if it's worth 25 a box?
Just got one and its good use it for graded comics
Bloody expensive AF but they are very good and only worth the money if you have the money
Love them too, but wish they came in white glossy
I like getting custom acrylic boxes for mine
I will buy once they make the comic books housing like the cardboard version has so they can be stacked and separated well.
I use nothing but the BCW bins. Gotta love the "StAcK-mOdE"!!
So you books don't fall over....get yourself some closed cell foam (sofa cushion material) cut into 6" X 6" X 8" blocks that you slip in length, width or height wise to hold your books in place....and they're soft....so It doesn't dent your books. The plastic storage boxes are ok....but they are best for your Slabbed books so they don't get damaged.
They are nice, just too expensive for all comics. I have a BCW slab one and it’s ok, a tab snapped off during assembly. I found some nice slab and normal size corrugated plastic storage boxes and like using them. Although with my spending sprees I’ve had to buy 3 cardboard long boxes!
I use BCW slab box for all my comics cuz reg BCW bin do not stock with BCW slab bin.
They have them on Amazon
My question is when the plastic degrades over time, does it ooze oil? I've had some plastic bins degrade over the years and they started to ooze oil and they ruined some old poly bagged comics.

I've never heard of this happening. That's wild. These seem to be of high quality. I wouldn't think you would have that issue.
Dirty clothes doesn't work not that I've ever done that!...🙄
Those things rock. All my comics are in them. Wish they would make them for Treasury Editions though.
$35 woooooo no sir lol
This box is awesome! The bad reviews are likely people that put them together wrong lol. Been debating on getting another short or starting a long box

Go short in my opinion, the long boxes get really heavy and are more difficult for storage.

I can fit magazine size in the Graded Bins yes.
Hey what’s going on anyway this is Bob in Connecticut it’s about 4 o’clock I’m just watching the Yankee game. I just want you to realize what has happened recently.Because of the sale of amazing fantasy 15 9.4 for $1.2 million recently it has affected the lower grades tremendously they call that the trickle down effect. I have a 6.0 I picked up in New York for $4000 about 10 years ago and the last copy just sold for $96,000🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
Yooooooo good vid wass on the fence about it I am good now good stuff
I definitely swear by those boxes, but at my LCS I paid $25, not $34.99, so if I were you I would shop around next time.
Nice, but 34 bucks 🤕 ouch.

Well worth it for me! I even went and bought the Graded Books Bin the next day! I love them!!
I'm a huge fan of the BCW plastic storage bins, haha, as anyone who has watched my videos can see. If you use the Avery 5388 index card sheets you can print custom index cards. If you buy them in the 5 packs they usually run around $20/bin. The only minor thing that I do not like about them is when you have a full box if you attempt to pull on the front of the box, the front will occasionally separate from the sides.
@MrKleen

To fix this when you assemble them use some epoxy resin (JBWeld or something like that) along the seams and connection points and you no longer have to worry about them coming apart (they will just straight up break first).
@comicsbythecover3751
3 жыл бұрын
@@MrKleen it’s really a very minor thing in my mind, I’ve considered applying an adhesive but part of me likes the thought that I can deconstruct the box when I want. I have a weird glitch in my programming when it comes to permanence.
@MrKleen

@@comicsbythecover3751 I actually don't do it either, but a couple of people I have talked to were concerned about them holding together. They seem solid to me as is, but I've used enough epoxy through the years that if someone wants a little extra confidence then that's an option. I have 10 of them right now and waiting for BCW to get more to reorder. I've been buying some cheap $6 cardboard short boxes from my LCS in the meantime.

@@MrKleen do you buy them by the case. I usually pick up the 5 pack for around $100 on Amazon.
@MrKleen

@@comicsbythecover3751 That's the same way I bought the ones I have. Bought two 5 packs a while back on Amazon, but they've been out for a bit now. Found some on eBay, but people are wanting something like $75 for shipping --> "That's a big No good buddy" lol Now I'm just waiting for someone to get the 5-packs back in stock. I like the idea of saving a few bucks instead of buying them one at a time. Plus it would throw the symmetry off. I need 15 so they stack evenly. 11 would look stupid 😃
Should’ve made the end pieces clear plastic, no need for trading card
They've been on back order for months. Their site said until June. Now it says until September. There's a shortage on bins and top loaders. There needs to be another option other than BCW, because BCW obviously can't handle their 💩.
I have been using them for years now, I think I have purchased 60 of them from Amazon. I have been getting 15 year. The one thing people do not consider when they purchase these is if they are in good condition they are re-sellable just like the comics. One LCS I went to was selling 2 used for 15 each! You sure are not going to get anything for a used cardboard short box!
I use the BCW plastic storage bins. They are solid. But I only pay $26 at my LCS. I think you paid a little too much. The BCW plastic magazine bins are $36.
Slap some stickers all over that bad boy
It’s just too expensive.
Don't plastic boxes increase chances of moisture issues?
@TwoBrothersComics
Жыл бұрын
As long as you don't let your in home temperature go from one extreme to another you're going to be fine. I've never had any issues at all. Moisture is going to come from big temperature changes in your home 9/10 times.
Stack mode tshirt incoming?
Maybe I would consider them for my super valuable stash. But I'm not so much a fan of how bulky they look.
