Pretty good job being done with the cans. However to avoid the plastidip from peeling with the tape, take the tape off when the dip is still super wet. Those areas are considered peel when wet areas. Other than that it turned out super good

They used to be $6-7 a can. And now under Senile Joe, they're over $14 a can

Also the areas where u have the rubber trim u dont want to tape all the rubber trim up.. leave some and let the plasti dip be able to bond fully into the gap between the body and rubber.. that way when u do peel it the bond should break within the gap and not peel from the area where the OEM paint is.. a few other small mistakes were when u did the roof.. tough to do with a can.. but try and keep the can pointing straight down not angled to prevent over spray and spray as much of the roof as u can from 1 side then walk around and continue from the same line where u left off.. this will help minimize the stripping. but for doing it with just cans looks great...

Cans are tough, this is really really good for using cans. I personally use the wagner gun.

Nice i do like how it came out. How many cans would u say id need for both my front and back bumper? Bought 3 but i feel like that may not be enough

Looks good! I would be happy with that job compared to my paint peeling every where. I might try this.

Much props for you attempting and then the job you did. Probably using the handle and nozzle from dyc may have helped, however good job with the cans.

Actually, you shouldn't do "light" coats. that's how you get the "orange peel" texture issue. You should spray it slower and do a wet coat, but not enough to avoid running. Then once it dries it will be smooth and ready for a second and third coat. Also, be mindful of your taping, and pulling the tape once its dry, you can easily get that edge issue around the windows, you can run an exacto very lightly around the edge of the trim before peeling the tape to give you a clean edge. Good job on a first time around though! p.s. you need 3-4 coats before you can easily peel it off in one grip otherwise you'll be there ALL day picking and peeling little bits at a time.

You’ve gotta wait a while between coats, that’s why the paint ran and there was striping. Plus also distance with the can and such

Hey the car came out pretty cool. You said you used 11 cans but is that enough paint or did you use enough plasti dip in order to be able to peel it off in the future. I heard you have to apply a certain amount in order to be able to peel it off correctly if not you will hella struggle to take off.

did a colorshifting pearl in plastidip on my miata. been on for 2 years now. the color doesn't fade, but bug splatters are a pain, because they get embedded into the dip. you can't get the bug stains out without a lubricating cleaning product, and some cleaning products can put ugly stripes on the dip. just gotta take care of the thing

Good job on the experiment buuuuuuuut that will be a pain peeling off knowing it looked like you used only about 10 cans

chamucoboy 96 has held up good for what it is. Have washed it once a week no issues. Where the car was rusty it has bleed threw a little.

SCOLLAY TABLE so that the plastic dip would bond to the metal a lot better preparation is key to producing results you should always sand before applying fresh paint

@@clarkeboss1072 bullshit! I did the same thing to my Xterra 5 years ago. You DON'T have to sand anything! I painted my 07 Xterra with spray cans 5 years ago and it still looks awesome. No preparation needed except making sure the paint is clean and dry.

They sell a spray that is a chemical & you coat the car with it and the plasti dip dissolves all you need to do it wash it with water and comes right off
