in fact you don't need the Plasma Drive if you have this. In fact I am gonna replace my entire Erica Fusion for this module.

So, I guess it's possible now for Gamechanger Audio to release an 8-Voice synthesizer using the xenon-filled gas tubes, right? I'd like to see a new take on a Groovebox / Drum machine from you guys, too.

Can I also import my own SOUNDS? Many of your creations are mediocre, but I like the concept and would like to use my own SOUNDS with the Plasma Voice.

@AtavisticPlatypus I mean the onboard presets which are just samples. You have 49 samples in 7 Banks. Most of the samples are not usable, e.g. the bass sound is very poor.

@AtavisticPlatypus Those are indeed recorded samples. //The Plasma Tube Driver is modulated by a digital engine that contains samples (one shots and loops) and predefined envelopes//.

@AtavisticPlatypus You can ask Gamechanger directly. There is no OSC, those are only 49 recorded samples. It is also on their site. Why don´t you just read what is in the description? Furthermore you can hear that those are ROMples.

​@AtavisticPlatypus Yeah, totally missleading. SAMPLES are modulating an OSC = ROMples are modulating an OSC. Dude, an OSC is also in a Sequencer e.g. in Verbos. This OSC doesn´t make sound. The sounds are still ROMples. You understand it now? It seems like you read "OSC" and don´t care about its technology.

@AtavisticPlatypus duuuuuuude, the on board sounds are samples, so it would be possible to add your own wavtables e.g. but gamechanger said they have no interace for it. That´s all.

Fun. But I'm still waiting for the single voice Motor Synth prototype you presented at Namm a few years ago, before releasing the Motor Synth to the public.

Absolutely great if you happen to like the sound of broken speakers. 😀 But seriously, that f***ing machine sounds something else. Like Minimoog on acid or something.

I'm not sure about the sound of the module yet, but in terms of idea and presentation, you're pretty far ahead of other module manufacturers.

@@casktheatre7715 right, "voltage" is extremely vague. If he said "particle noise" or something that'd make sense but otherwise that voltage could just be its own oscillator/ seed wave.

The plasma element might be the least interesting part of the synth. The huge variety of trigger/accent modes, ‘clutch’ for CV changes, assignable modulation on top of individual CV inputs, etc.. would all be really powerful in a wavetable or physical modeling oscillator setup as well

So it’s basically a preset machine with a very one dimensional sound. If only it sounded 1/10th as cool as it looks.
