I feel like with all of these DIY plasma guns, it's truly only the beginning for the evolution of plasma weaponry to where we'll eventually see the plasma weapons we see in games like Metroid or Halo actually become real one day (though maybe not in our lifetime).

It would take some time, but if you fill the tube completely with sand and then bend it, It shouldn't kink. The sand would hold the shape no matter how tight you turn it. The trick would be emptying the sand once done. You could face it down and swirl the sand out and possibly blow compressed air through it. Just a thought.
