Planting woodland in the harshest environment: West Coast of Ireland: 10 year progress
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
About 10 years ago I planted some 100 trees, mostly Alder, Willow and Aspen, with some Beech, Birch and Larch. Some have "thrived", some have held their ground.
It is a little carbon sink, a little attempt at firewood growing and a little bot of habitat that wouldn't otherwise be there.

Thank you for doing this!
Good work!
This is great stuff. Such beautiful work. I live in Australia and our bushland is being rapidly destroyed for beef farming and housing estates. 10 years of a far right government made it worse and the new labor government is barely any better. Keep up the great work 👍
Owen, that put you description in place. I imagining it's acid soil and wondering how Scots pine would fare. Once a shelter like that is established then other trees down wind have a much better chance. I remember they used this idea on Tresco so get exotic trees to grow. Thanks for the video, cheers
Nice
