Planting a GALA apple tree. Self pollinating so I only need one.

We have an ANNA apple tree but it does not self pollinate. GALA is my favorite and when I learned it was a self pollinator I ordered one. Hopefully, we will begin to get apples in the next two years.

We planted 3 about 6 years ago and within a 4 years we were giving apples away.

I have a bee problem in my area. When the blooms are opening on my satsuma, pear or squash there are not enough bees to pollinate. I have to manually pollinate my squash in the early season. I think that is why I get a yield on my satsuma and pears. However, yesterday I saw bumble bees on the satsuma blossoms. You may the same problem.
The bamboo stick is to keep the box from being crushed down onto the tree

Probably 2nd year after it's planted you will getting a few, then more after that. Keep it watered.

How many years before it bears fruit I wonder 🤔

I'm hoping to get fruit in the 3rd year, count this as year one.
Why not plant a crab apple tree and have cross pollination they both need to fruit.
You can't grow an Apple tree in Alabama wrong weather. Just cotton 😑

I’m next door in Mississippi zone 8b and have an orchard of Anna, Ein Shimer, Gala and Fuji. All bear fruit every year like clockwork after year 2. Low chill hours varieties is key.
