Plant Tissues

This lecture video deals primarily with the major types of plant tissues like connective tissues, Meristematic tissues, Parenchyma, permanent tissues, Sclerenchyma, Xylem, Collenchyma etc. Cells of meristems divide continuously and help in increasing the length girth of the plant.
Tissues are group of similar cells, having the same origin and performing a specific function. Plant tissues are organized into roots, stems, and leaves. Plant tissue consists of three types, Ground Tissue. Most of a young plant is ground tissue, which supports the plant body and stores water and food. Vascular Tissue. Special piping tissues conduct water and sugars through the plant body. Dermal Tissue. Dermal tissue forms the skin of the plant body, preventing water loss and protecting it.
The cells of meristematic tissue have have thin cellulose cell walls and are similar in structure. The meristematic cells may be ,oval, polygonal, rectangular or spherical in shape. Xylem tissue function is conduction of water and minerals. Phloem is composed of following four elements or cells, sieve tubes, companion cells, phloem parenchyma and phloem fibres.
Byju’s firmly believes that in order for learning to be compelling and engaging, students must be introduced to a new effective method of teaching. Byju’s futuristic method of learning gives students an edge over their counterparts.
