Dioscorea bulbifera is a highly invasive noxious weed in the SE, I don't know if its a good idea to grow them. There probably isn't enough rain in California for them, but they are a serious menace, when people get them in their yard its next to impossible to get rid of them because they reproduce like nobody's business. You might want to check with your local agricultural extension.

can confirm, I was at the plant sale on the first day. Definitely looks like the selection was completely picked over by the time you got there. Tropical plant tent had pretty good selection of obscure anthuriums on day 1.

I love the Huntington Gardens. They're probably my favorite botanical garden next to the New York Botanical Garden.

11:29 I love the Utricularia Calycifida weeding in the moss. It's in the 5 famous utricularia species, along with gibba, graminifolia, longifolia(the one you have) , and bisquamata. And I'd love for you to have some saraccenia, i recommend purpurea, or it's hybrids. Because other sarracenias need SOOO much sun.
