When you work within the Department of Defense's PPBE process, there is an important question you always have to ask: "What Year Are We Talking About?"
It is easy to get confused between the plans for FY26 and the execution of FY24. And dealing with the frantic MAJ without asking what Fiscal Year he means...that can lead to chaos.

    Often it would be wise to use existing end of financial year funds to payout future budget problems and past thorny issues affecting future budget years... Eliminating the future budget costs... But often the maintenance of current problems in a infinity loop is because the problems are politically created and therefore politically funded. Many issues costing resources, man power and dollars are simply not solved because the maintenance of the problems is in fact a traditional tradition at this point. That’s one of the ironic ironies of the “planning budgets”...

    Hmmm...don't get me started on spending decisions in the final weeks of a fiscal year. My wife gets upset when I get to ranting and won't let her sleep.
