Planning a 12 month lap around Aus with three dogs!!!
Doing a lap of Australia is something that has been on the cards for us for a very long time. If you have been around from the start, you would have remembered that we attempted to restore a 1978 Viscount Caravan (cringe at the videos - but good memories to have, right!), which we decided to move along due to competing projects, however we always said we would be doing this in the future. Life has got away from us over the last few years, but in saying that, we have been exploring a lot of what North Queensland has to offer.
So, here we are, planning our very first 12 month lap!!!! We are so excited to be here in the planning phase, we only decided about 8-10 weeks ago that we are doing this, and it has been emotional, stressful and exciting all at once. What a rollercoaster. We have made some big decisions very early on in the piece, and this video is to share our experience and insights into how we are planning to travel.

Great news guys. I came to the channel because of the unique 79 but stayed for your adventures especially the cape and OTT. Really glad to see another unique perspective from you guys as you still have sometime before you begin the lap. Forget the naysayer's, your lap your rules. My wife and I are in the same boat as you guys. We're also "thinking" of getting a van, as in our 40's we do want a few luxuries. Definitely stoked to see what you guys get and your reasons behind it, that should help us a lot. Cheers and all the best.

This is gonna be a good series. Only thing i would change is taking the dogs. I know its a big thing but having down a few laps myself you will miss out on so many locations.

Totally get it! One day we will do it without the dogs, but for now, they are coming along for the ride and will have the time of their lives!
What's your GVM/GCM currently thats made you decide to sell the '79 ?
