This planner is my new system. Just this, everything in one. Including stickers or deco. I had been using an Erin condren vertical every year since 2015. This is just PERFECT for me. And I actually love the chunkiness and the fact that it is falling apart a little. Makes me feel like it is being USED. I AM looking forward to the sturdier cover though.

I took a course and one thing always stuck with me, because i suffer from OCD & ADD, but it was that if i was too "rigid" about my routine, and things werent done perfectly within that time or something popped up and because i didnt "schedule" or allow for that interruption, then I would become overwhelmed and and frustrated and would give up with the whole routine because it wasnt "perfect" to my standards. Realizing that about myself had been monumental... So few people understand what it is to live with our brain and just how tough it is to be productive because of this (at least in my case it is). Its nice to come across a channel that understands what its like to live with this and function everyday! I am using a cousin (for self care/trackers/daily journal) for the first time this year and the Wonderland222 for my catchall so it's nice to see your layouts. They are the PERFECT combination of decorative and functional which is what i need for my ADD and it soothes my OCD so its literally perfection to me! Excited to see more ❤ you inspire me!

I always love seeing your pages!! I’ve started using one washi per week after seeing you do it last year and I love how it makes the week come together. 🥰 Also, I’ll remember when we have 2024 planner chats: no full-year systems for Lauren!! 😆😂

I’ve also learned the full year lesson this year. I’m not in CP because I can’t do B6 but I’m very excited for a two book A5 system when she drops the 2024 sizes because I think I’ll be able to journal in the back pages and only carry one book instead of one planner and one journal.

AHHHHH okay glad i am not alone lol! i think i might also switch back to A5 size next year if we get an A5 common planner 👀 while i have made b6 work i could definitely use just a smidge more space!

One of the reasons I knew the CP was for me was perfect was because it offers two books. I adore a Avec set. I hate writing in too big of a book…too thick. And they are easy to put the together for long term memory keeping after the year is over. Its funny how different we all are. I don’t like the cover stuck in both sides. Aesthetically I prefer it only in one said and to decorate the front. It lays better when writing too. The thicker cover is ok. It’s on the notebooks she launched. It’s really thick and stiff. And mine has split at the corner - like the layers pulled apart the first day. And I’ve not had any issues with my CP cover. I have the mauve though which is sturdier. And I don’t tuck both sides. You can add some book binding tape to the inside to add some structure for your cover.

i totally agree with you! it was VERY idealistic of me to think i could get by with the one year in one book situation considering i have always used the avec system exclusively 😂 the half year i ordered i got in the mauve cover and i'm so excited because texturally i think i will like it a lot better too!

thank you for this awesome explanation of how you're using the common planner! i'm especially interested in how you've condensed down from an A5 to a B6 - it seems to be working really well! I do have a question for you though, since you mentioned that you don't use an electronic planner (like ical) at all - HOW do you manage to write everything down that you need to keep in your planner? I feel like I'm always on the go when I have something that either needs to be future planned, or I think of a task list item I need to write down, so I use siri to stick it in my phone so I don't forget! Also, anytime I'm listening to a podcast and there's a quote I want to remember, I'm driving or otherwise occupied and can't stop to write it down :P (maybe I'm answering my own question in that I just need to slow my life down a little and make stopping to write things down a priority?!) lol! I'd love to know your process :)

thank you meg!!! I think i am going to do a video soon comparing my system in the hobo cousin (a5) to the common planner (b6) 😁 for when I am out and need to jot things down: i usually just messily write it down on a brain dump page and then transcribe it into the appropriate spot in my planner when i get home. i do jot notes down in my notes app from time to time, specifically when i am listening to an audiobook and hear a good quote!!

  • @theoryof.lauren

hey :) all the pictures in my common planner are printed using my poooliprint thermal printer! because its thermal, it prints only in black and white and I know that's not everyone's cup of tea but for me its been working perfectly. also, because you can print right onto sticker paper, it creates much less bulk 🙏🏻 I do have a link in my bio but it is an affiliate link! But you can take a look at their site for more info about all the different papers you can print on!

thank you so much for watching! So to sum it up, i am doing my PhD in a gender studies program, but my research really centres around visual art, aesthetics, and representations of trauma. So it can definitely be a bit nebulous at times. I think i will actually do a video soon that talks about my research in a bit more detail 😌 im so glad some of these methods are helpful for you!! 🤍
