As a survivor of what happened in Manchester I am really sad at how the BBC have handled this. My kids were nearly killed by shrapnel and had multiple operations. A terrorist is a terrorist. Shame on you BBC. I have just cancelled my BBC and if they come after me for it I will do something stupid. I have had enough of this.

I enjoyed this discussion immensely. Thank you. As for Greta, commiting a crime or just (as she is) being a threat to public order and/or security is enough ground for deportation. She is not a UK citizen so deport her I say. Wasting police resources for a publicity stunt is also perverse.

Just because something is against the law doesnt always mean its the wrong thing to do. We wouldnt be were we are today if people through history hadnt stod up against what they thought was wrong, legal or not. She is doing this for a good reason and I dont think she will ever give up. There is a lot of work to be done if we want to continue living on this planet, you cant follow the law when it means millions of lives and our planet are at stake.

@@le4089 Whilst I can see your point that some lawbreakers may have perpetuated change it is a too far stretch to place Greta and her activism in that category. Her friends who glue themsleves to the roads stopping people going to school, work and even hospital brings no benefit especially not for a hypothesis (mans impact on the climate)which needs a lot more scientific work. I could stage same type of disruptive illegal demonstrations becuase I want to bring about change in addressing the dangers of say zombies. I could say zombies are real and we must take them seriously. This is why we have laws and democratic process for change of the law. The best place is still to go about change in a democracy such as Britain is through democratic elections and then through parliament.

I lived in Dorset for over ten years. I do miss being called ‘my Lovely’. It made me feel as if I mattered. I’m 76 and brought up in Aberdeen. I clearly remember when Glaswegians would call women ‘Hen’. It gave a cosy feeling, to me anyway. What happened to that? It wasn’t like the ‘Darlin’ from a stranger in the pub or out dancing which was cheeky but nothing worse tha that. We’ll all be afraid to open our mouths to speak at all.

Is the BBC supposed to be fair and equal? The ABC (Australia) is, too. They're calling the nation of Australia a bunch of dummies for voting NO at last weekend's referendum. Which is the usual outcome of referendums in Australia, anyway. But I wouldn't know, because I don't watch free TV anymore.

I just think the inability of any spokesperson from the Palestine perspective to condemn the Terrorist attack by Hamas on the people of Israel is a bad idea. I am impartial but the rhetoric from the Palestine side is clearly "I do not want peace, I just want to be right". In contrast, the spokespersons from the Israeli side is clear, rational, and reasonable. Despite the Terrorist atrocities unleashed by Hamas on israel, the rhetoric from Israel is to attack Hamas and not the people of Palestine. Unless we get more moderate leaders, thinkers and speakers from Palestine, I cannot see a way out of this.
