Interesting. I have Mars in Libra in my 7th house. I have been very conflicted about relationships and have had conflicted relationships. I have had a tendency in the past to people-please and avoid conflict, but have also been called, "more punk rock than anyone" (gosh, not true), and "irreverent." I don't know if I see myself that way though. I've been having some intense Mars transits the last few years and I've been learning how to speak up, be direct, and tell people what I want/need. I've gotten a little saucy at times. And I've gotten a LOT of pushback from people who were used to me sitting back and keeping my mouth shut. It's been quite a journey. I love this series, thank you!

Thank you so much Adam. So fascinating especially with your many excellent examples. I have natal Mars (Rx) in Libra as well as Sun opposite Mars. Have felt the tension and conflict you described my whole life. More than anything I have difficulty being direct or assertive with people, i.e., telling people how I truly feel especially if it will hurt their feelings. I've never been able to ask for a raise or really demand anything or speak up for myself. I HATE conflict and confrontation! Yes, a very challenging natal aspect!!! 😞

This by me is usually listened to a couple times so it sinks in better. You can laugh, its like fun homework.

Mars in Libra in its exile or detriment....."or it's like going to some environments that are contrary to your own nature - like take someone who doesn't like to shop and hang out in a mall some day".... how perfect this description

This was very enlightening... My Mars is in Libra in the 11th house and unaspected. I've always been wanting to lead and wanting lots of deep, intimate friendships where I could be authentic, but have always been more pleasing and passive, and have suffered from being either ignored or misunderstood. You've explained quite a bit about this dichotomy in my life, and I feel like I have an idea on how to address all of this. Thank you!

An interesting thing I realised about the dignities and Venus and Libra, is that the only way for it to be a dispostor in good diginity, is for it to be in Libra. What I mean by that is, if you have a planet in Libra, say Mars, and Venus is in Pisces (so in good dignity), Mars is in aversion to its ruler. Same thing with Taurus. If Mars is in Libra and its ruler/dispositor Venus is in its own home of Taurus, Mars again can't see its ruler. So for Mars (or any planet in Libra) to be in aspect to its ruler, and for its ruler Venus to be in good dignity (own sign or exalted) the only option is Libra. This is especially interesting if the planet in Libra is Saturn (exalted) and its ruler Venus is in Pisces (exalted). This should technically be good for both planets, but aspect wise they can't talk. Anyway, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this....

Thanks for this, Adam. I found it to be spot on. I have natal Mars in Libra closely conj Neptune, and also conjunct a Libra MC. My way of expressing this Mars is often in verbally bursting bubbles of (what I perceive as) lies, deceit, and general BS. With that Neptune so close, I have had to pay close attention to my boundaries. And Cat Stevens is still alive and well, and is back to performing - as Yusuf Islam - but chiefly in smaller venues. I was also a fan of his work back in the day - late 60s-70s.

I’ve probably watched/listened to this one 3 times; I have Venus, mars, and Pluto in libra in conjunction trine Aquarius moon and I have a hard time differentiating what’s coming from where. Pluto is the last one to differentiate finally getting around to Venus. Due to that placement I’d look for musicians in my owned music catalogue who “represented” that energy and I oddly found the mars easily and when doing that with Venus I was surprised the artist there had mars in libra (Jennifer Charles). In both musicians cases they had stints with major labels where pushed release from their contracts. In Charles case they were on Geffen in the 90’s and has Steve Albini produce their 2nd record right after Cobain committed suicide to become intentional obscure not really releasing albums in the US. The other Mars in libra had international distribution so he made promotional videos US and MTV censors would ban to break that contract. During the recent transit I found it interesting because it’s just a different expression that sort of mocks mars. Meaning, if a person sort of shows a strong mars expression where there’s no other choice my own mars may get active which is equally to more infuriating than the direct mars expression. If a person is too aggressive, ghosting them reflects the frustration onto them or if they’re being too directly competitive/aggressive, motivate whole groups against the person where they’re outnumbered having no idea who did what. Strong/direct mars often sees the passiveness of libra mars as something they can trample and use, but it’s easy to misinterpret aggression and passive aggressiveness can be used inappropriately. I usually bring those things up in discussions since mars is technically malefic where libra tries to restrain it. I usually just say it’s hard for the native when they’re using mars to think of others while no one else is often taking others into consideration which can be an issue because they’ll read others as being more purposely unthoughtful. The definite entertainment of that mars is the strange mockery of mars and the hypocritical parts are generally the same with any mars placement; I’m not at all implying libra is better in any way (lol). Of the conjunctions mars isn’t the strongest, but there’s a seemingly random “shock” behavior. But hypocrisy is probably one of the malefic life lessons of mars itself.

Interesting. Many of them also have definitely dark relationships/sexual issues. R. Kelly, yes, but also think about Poe, who was in love with his THIRTEEN YEAR OLD cousin....Elvis, who decided he was going to marry 17 year old Priscilla, and then pursued a long extramarital string of young girls. Freddie Mercury was in love with a girl (who inherited his estate), but was separated from her because of his sexuality. Eminem and John Lennon and probably Elvis definitely had mommie issues that affected their adult relationships....and so it goes. Seems like the Mars/Venus journey takes some wrong turns here.....

learned so much about Mars in Libra from this talk. I do have this natally. I often quote a poem from Rilke "let everything happen to you, beauty and terror". doesn't that sound like Mars/Venus? I think the whole poem is quite Mars/Venus, which makes me wonder if Rilke had this natally too. in any event, now I know why it's one of my favorite poems.

My Venus & Mars oppose each other nataly. Venus is in Scorpio (2nd house) and Mars is in Taurus (8th house). I almost wouldn't recognize my life if I didn't constantly have this struggle going on between these two. And yes, thank God Pluto & Mars are no longer square. Per usual...great tutorial, Adam!

Dang I’d like to deal with my self, mars in libra on my birthchart complete with another 3 element planet in 12-1st house. Its burning and i just like.... internally screaming with eyeball out. They do, yes! Each sign contains 5 bounds and those bounds are each ruled by a different planet. Each sign also has a triplicity ruler, a domicile ruler, and most have exaltation rulers as well. So the study of dignities becomes super sophisticated...though we can also work with the simplest level of dignities with great success!
