    I've played with 6 just last weekend, and it is one of the best 6 player games I've played. It still works great, one of the best 6 player games I could suggest.

    So glad you loved this game! I also love playing it. A couple rules points- 1) when you take a Meteorite off your planet it is not worth three points, you must collect three Meteorites to gain one victory point. 2) the SUSAN has 12 different polyomino spots in it. Each section of two polyominos- smaller area on top, larger below it- is called a Depot- thus six Depots to select from. One of the ways the game ends is when a Depot runs out of tiles- not just one spot of the twelve. The trays are great! The one you showed has matching areas on both ends- for Meteorites and Lifepods. The six rectangles in the middle are not for cards- they are meant to place all five different resource trackers per player in their own separate place- so you can just grab all five to stock your Corporation Board. The other tray has a spot for the first player token, two small angled spots for the Depot Indicators, and the rovers go on the other end of the tray. On this tray there are three areas for the cards: Event, Civ and Objective. The last large area across from cards is for the Biomass tiles. Yes, they should have put a sheet in on this!! I also threw away the bottom tray and my game fits well in the box. I love the SUSAN. Awesome. I also got the 12 optional neoprene planet mats and these are really cool for this game. Same brightness, two sided with planets on both sides, but the polyominos don't slide out of place as easily. Super nice upgrade. I highly recommend them, but they DO have to be stored separately! I played a six player game at GenCon and it was great. We did run out of a Depot first- before anyone filled their planet. The more players, the less control you have in filling your planet. This makes for very interesting, different play because you must use different strategies with many players. Lastly, when you score the planet you score every completed (no Meteorites) row AND column for a total of 40 points possible on the generic planet KSB-4156 (one side of each of the 12 dual sided planets is the generic planet, other side is 12 different planets for more variety). This game is my current favorite. It's just great!!

    He usually says that if he's about to knock a particular aspect of the game. If someone hears the negativity, they might stop watching. Sometimes it's easy to make nitpicking sound like big negatives especially for viewers who don't have the same perspective and experience as enthusiasts. So, they don't have a good method of understanding the weight of the review's comments.

    this feels like the kind of game that should have been picked up by Z-Man or AEG and produced (and streamlined, especially in terms of rulebook) properly, rather than kickstarted. Imagine it with a Cryo-level production...

    "Lazy Susan" is a term without clear origins, and a cultural myth exists claiming Thomas Jefferson invented it and named it after his daughter, who complained that she was always served last at meals and so was always hungry. Modern etymologists do seem to largely agree that it's more likely that "Susan" was a common generic name for a female servant in upper class homes, and laziness was a common complaint about servants among rich people, so calling a device like that a "lazy Susan" would have been a sarcastic reference to this simple device doing the servant's job for her.

    One thing that Tom didn't mention but he showed was that the single pieces don't actually fit into single slots on the board sometimes. They have to lay on top of other tiles. That really annoyed me as much as everything not fitting in the box. But really enjoy the game.

  • @Trueflights

    @Trueflights

    Isle of cats has the same issue. You have to flip some of the tiles in order for them to fit together properly sometimes. Scaling them just a tiny bit would fix it. Alternatively, you can always sand the edges skittles and it does the trick

    * I see the update on canceling the retail version now. Still curious about the hobby edition.. Where can I find info on this? The recent update on the KS page says, "we do plan to enter into distribution with a hobby edition around August 2022 with the SKU adjustment decision...." I was assuming a hobby edition would be different from the deluxe. Asking because I can get a deluxe edition now but if it's the same as the retail, then I may wait.

    In the updates on kickstarter the difference seems to be 6 additional planet boards, 2 extra corporation boards and wooden meteor and life pods not plastic minis. Foe me, this makes the retail pretty much identical as it has the gametrayz, lazy susan rover minis and enough planet and corporation variety. Also the box lid should close properly in a second run with slightly less stuff inside 😁

    Played it 6 player a few weeks ago and it played really smoothly and was a blast. The component wash was terrible and I soaked mine in 91% Alcohol over night to remove most of it. I may paint them up. The box thing, yes a shame, but the game play more than makes up for the oversight. Great game for a first time publisher and hope they do many more as I'm sure they have also learned allot from the campaign. I assume a reprint will be made in the future.

    This game is getting such rave reviews and I’ve been searching for it since early 2023. After much searching, I’ve placed an overpriced order but can’t wait to get it. In addition to great game mechanics, it seems perfect to be able to accommodate solo mode to 6 players. Our game group has grown and it eliminates the 4 player or less games. So, I’m really excited about this game. Love the lazy Susan concept and that there is no down time for players. I suspect it’s going to the top of the game list, like Ticket to Ride.

    I think Tom did not get the events. Going down a track can be good and interesting because you get to pick the bonus (for example a civ card) again when you go up again. Also you can leave the red events out and then you only get positive stuff and an alternative end game trigger which i find nice. I would at least suggest trying them one more time without the bag ones

    I like what I've seen of this but... Where's the player interaction? It looks as though you're basically all playing the same game at the same time, but by yourself. The whole point of playing boardgames together is for player interaction, this seems to have little to none, I'm only going off reviews I've watched though. Am I missing something? The "objectives" that you "share" with your neighbours kinda seems like it turns it into an optional mini co-op. But the non-adjacent people, what interaction is there if any with them? Seems like none.

  • @TotallyBoard

    @TotallyBoard

    There’s not a lot of direct interaction, but you do have the objectives you’re competing with the person next to you. But I will say, many people get just as much enjoyment with parallel play than they do with direct interaction.
