​@@xaviergirard1860 Some A330's have fuel dump systems and some don't. It seems this particular aircraft did not have it, so it landed shortly after instead of circling in pattern for hours on end. Either that or an engine out/bird strike requires them to land ASAP per regs.

The reason why they couldn't reject the take off, is because if you reach V1 you cant reject, so this aircraft couldnt reject its takeoff so it had to continue and try land.

I was in Paris at the time that plane got a bird strike so we were delayed 4 hours 😅

It looks like an Aer Lingus plane..irish and it said it was a flight from Dublin to Chicago..looks like Dublin airport too..I'm so glad all were safe

Poor bird was messing with the wrong plane. Plane couldn’t crash because it had a camera man on board.

Cf6 are known to have big problems with bird strikes

They usually have to dump fuel before coming around to land again. It must have been a super smooth landing not to break or stress wings. Great job.

Some airliner have the option to have fuel jettison system or not installed for their customer. BA's a350 is one example. Probably this one doesnt too

The majority of the airplanes similar to A320/737 do not have fuel dump capabilities. For the A330, it's an option so some aircraft can't do it

Thank goodness everyone is ok. That would be truly terrifying even as a pilot myself 😅 edit: chill y’all in the replies, I fly a Cessna 172 casually. Yes, I do believe it would be scary if your engine gave out on takeoff, even if know how to land without your engine. edit 2: to people saying that it's perfectly safe because modern day airliners can fly with one engine, that's not necessarily true, as flames or sparks caused by the failure can ignite the fuel, and then boom.

It probably took off again later on. A cargo airplane probably would've continued on. There wasn't compressor stalls and they used the engine to reverse thrust. It was cautionary

Yeah... Every bit helps in an overweight situation. And so long as they didn't rev the damaged engine higher than it was already spinning, then the reverse thrusters don't exert any more stress on said engine than it already has on it.
