Just a gentle reminder that taking time off and stepping away is important for preventing burnout, and that going “100%” indefinitely is often not sustainable or the best long term strategy, even though it means sometimes you feel like you can do more. Breaks and recovery for your brain are an important part of investing in your own health, same as recovery days for physical workouts. I hope I’m not being too presumptive of your situation, and I’m sure you know best when is a reasonable time to take a break from work (because it’s reality that some seasons are less accomplished than others) But I hope that you can prioritize scheduling some time off soon :)

I have been thinking of you these past few days Helen. I’ve watched enough of your videos to know that what happened during subscription day would have upset you. Your idea to split journaling and planning into two different planners looks great! I did that with my bijou & planner in the past, but now I’m in a planner kick so I am definitely going to try out your system😊 also, my sister, who’s not really into the planning/journaling community decided to journal this year and bought a very cheap fountain pen and I think I’m going to fall back into searching for one myself again😂 Anyways, hope you have a lovely week and happy year ❤

I love watching your videos. Something that caught my eye was your dad's 61st birthday. My dad died Dec 2022 when he was 59 and I wish so badly he made it into his 60's. :( But, taking comfort in journaling has helped me so much.

Looking forward to trying tip-ins. I’m in a hobonichi Cousin for the first time this year. I’m glad you and your car are ok, I was also in an accident on 12/30 but my vehicle was totaled 😬 No one was hurt though which, really, is what matters. For adhering your tip-ins you might want to look at the double sided tapes Lawn fawn or Altenew offer, they’re ultra thin and would be invisible in your book without fussing with the tape runner on those skinny flaps. They come as narrow as 1/8”. Thanks for all the inspiration Helen! 💜

Thank you for the flap tutorial, Helen! I have been doing it with washi tape and I like the artsy style of the washi tape but I think I will also now utilize the dot runner idea because the washi tape bulks up the Hobo which definitely gets beefy just as the year rolls on. Silver is also my favorite metallic color and it seems so rare in the planner/stationery world.

Flaps are great! I love them and have been using them ever since I have a daily journal (12 years... yeah... long time). Sometimes they are cute wrappers or interesting business cards or just randoom photos which didn't fit onto page but I still wanted to have them that particular day. Anyway, loads of health in New Year, tons of rest time and thank you for sharing your planning time with us. Oh, oh! My dream, I wanted to mention my dream from last night - there were small emoti head earrings available in your shop! They were the cutest :)

Yay first video! So glad the Avec is working for you! I personally think I would be happy with an Avec if I was gonna use Hobonichi again (I sadly don't love TR paper.) Splitting planners helps minimize and manage the chonk. Especially for people like me who loves sticking everything on her planner. 🤣

I honestly just avoid toucing where I wrote! 😅 I think I have gotten good at holding my pen in a way that does not smear on the page!

Happy 2024! I'm sorry to hear that the subscription caused you so much stress! I read some of the comments on FB and they (especially those from "annoyomus"!) were not being kind to you. I would have told you to increase the price if you were to ask me so that some of those annoying and entitled customers would go away (this is actually a very common advice to small business owners once their demands are increasing). But I know it's not your thing. Please prioritize your needs and the needs of your family, and not us. You are doing a good job. Happy Birthday to your father!
