@@kera6665 yeah, that was one of my thought's when I first read a couple of the 001 entries. Something so dangerous that only 5he top people know the truth.

Not sure why but this scenario terrifies me. Learned about it and for MONTHS I would remember it existed and would try walking in shadows. I’m not as paranoid now but every once in a while I’ll avoid the sun when walking outside, even though I know I have nothing to worry about.

Even if other stars weren't affected, the light of ours will eventually reach other systems. Imagine: You leave your apartament, the great frost has arrived, no work for roughly two weeks, automatons do everything needed to stop civilization from collapsing. You see the massive dome above the capital open up it's steel shell, it's citizens gathered in mass to admire the stars. *THEN BAM!* Everyone turns into a sentient mass of slime in less then five seconds.

I hope you know that “when day breaks” is just one of several possible SCP-001 files. A lot of them are supposed to be like the first discovered SCP or the SCP responsible for the existence of all the others. My personal favourite is the small device that expands the inside any container it’s placed in, and the ever increasing space starts forming irregularities or anomalies if you will. Long story short it’s doing the same to the entire universe, creating an endless stream of anomalous universes, such as one where Las Vegas is made of pizza or something along those lines. And all the other SCP’s are the anomalies created by the device when copying the universe, or at least that’s my interpretation

Some info for you, Pravus. There is no Canonical SCP-001. There are close to 20 proposals for what SCP-001 is. When Day Breaks is one of the more popular proposals. Plague inc. isn't that good of a representation of WDB because that it doesn't kill people and it happens all at once. It isn't heat that causes this goop, it is just an anomolous event that can't be explained.

The SCP Wiki is weird. Nothing is truly Canonical other than its existance. Everyone gets to create their own headcanon based off of the information in the wiki. With that out of the way, it is a possible version of SCP - 001. Whether 001 started the foundation, or is a designation given to the most dangerous SCP is for you to decide. The author of When Day Breaks chose the latter. When Day Breaks, or SCP - 001 is the designation given to the Sun after an anomolous event wherein any contact with the Sun's UV rays causes the living organism to turn into goop. They still retain their memories and personality. They are then urged to merge into larger goop piles. That's basically it. If you want more, you can go to the SCP Wiki and start reading.

Sorry for the mini-rant I'm boutta go on, Ahhh yes, the ol' "oh this group of people with a similar thing they like did something terrible which means everyone who likes said thing is bad" cliche. I'm not a furry but as a person who is seriously against hobbyshaming and kinkshaming it's really disheartening seeing people get bullied just because "oh those guys did terrible things" , yes we know terrible stuff happens at many furry convents but judging an entire fanbase on that is a bit much. Anyone who shames random furries without learning about them is really terrible

I was thinking the people were just mostly dying off initially because, either most people couldn't take to the infection (heart attacks, accidents, fires, etc., died in battle (likely nuclear detonations in initial urban areas) or simply died of heatstroke in the hottest area seeing that's where it began.

This takes place in 2371 so would technology be so advanced that they can make a cure for SCP-001? I still don’t think so.

SPC? Also, I think the plague could’ve used more customization. Why add something against zombie decay? They already are goo. Why not add some other thing to worry about? Should’ve been very nice.
