Hey Vern, your videos are awesome. I am a finish grader operator in central Florida….. I notice on some of your videos you’re on a 14 H and other videos you’re only 140 which do you prefer ?do you have a favorite ?and also what was the first grader you ever ran in the beginning of your career? and how many different models of graders have you been on? Keep up the great work your videos are awesome.!!!

@@seancote5575 The first grader I ever operated was a 16-G, and I was only 20 years old. I was working on a road job, or what I call "Highway Spec". I do prefer my 14-H. even when working on streets. That answer may surprise you, because the 140 size is more commonly used in street work. The 14 just feels more stable to me. I have nothing against the M-series, and if I was younger, I would convert over. I also do all of my own maintenance and repair, so the "H" is easier for me to work on. Technically I am a subcontractor for Standard General Construction, and they own three 140-Ms and two new John Deeres, so my 14-H seems pretty old in comparison, but SG does not seem to have a problem with that. Thank you for the input Sean, and it is nice to hear from Florida. PS: I would like to know what type of grader you are operating?

Why not flush out your edges and wheel roll them on your way backwards and then use your blade cushion and have your curb wet and strike it off and roll again as you back up and then cut your cross section at your edge

@@Dentside77Rod Hi Rob, Sometimes I try "wheel packing" along the curb in reverse, but I find it difficult to keep the tires exactly tight to the curb " especially around corners". Thanks for the input.
