Pizza Tower Meta Demo 1 Gameplay

No commentary because this released at 4 in the morning. My thoughts are in the description.
I had no idea this mod existed until yesterday, when Min3r told me about it. It looked interesting, and since I was up when it released, I decided to make a gameplay video of it. (Although this is my 2nd attempt, because the first time I got softlocked in Pizzascape.)
I think this mod is OK, even though I don't like the changes to Noise's moveset (not being able to grab into wallbounce, whatever the hell the wallbounce physics are, crusher cancel being gone). Some of the changes are nice, though. I find it really weird how lapping isn't required at all for a P rank. Also, it seems that enemies with damaging hitboxes are a lot more likely to hit, probably because of priority reasons.
Dragon's Lair is great. I thought the level was a nice build up to the boss, and the actual boss is challenging and fun. However, some of the hitboxes don't feel correct and in Phase 2 it's hard to focus on everything happening. Still, not bad.
Maybe when I'm feeling up to it, I'll go and P rank every level.

I also didn't use Hyper in the video because I didn't figure out how it worked. You have to have full heat meter and then press H in the air (or on the ground as Peppino).

I love how the make the cheese dragon into a normal boss like you start a level and just the pizza face boss fight you jump right into the arena I love the idea

The mod already has my points for being the first pizza tower mod I've seen with a fanmade boss, keep it up man!
Every copy of pizza tower is personalized
It's very cool to see the Cheese Dragon, originally intended to be the first boss way back in the earlier demos and played completely differently then, reimagined into a full-on boss fight here. This is a very well-made mod so far.
It's interesting to see a scrapped boss being put in there.
Once the full mod comes out I already know I’m going to be playing it as long as I have the original game

@@chefoil3045Why would they do that. Being able to flow in and out of your abilities allows Peppino and the Noise to feel smoother to control. [ I just played the demo and found out that you actually can crusher cancel]

I don't understand the hate towards this mod. Sure, it was a little bit rushed but some people gotta lay off of it a little. I personally think some parts of the mod are good, like the small moveset changes and the Dragon fight, the Dragon Fight was really cool.

Most of the people hating on it haven’t made games themselves(yes I’ve been developing my own game)
So I played the mod for myself and I thought it was fun. I like some of the unique changes to Peppino and Noise, the slight changes to the stages, and the fact that they added an actual cheese dragon fight. I also like the adrenaline rush/super form gimmick and how it is tied to your heat meter similar to how Sonic’s super form works. I do have one problem with this mod though. I feel like they tweaked Peppino and the Noise’s moveset a bit too much. Especially the Noise, he doesn’t feel as smooth as he is in the official game. So hopefully as they continue on with this mod, they give you the option to turn this stuff off, similar to how you can actually turn the shaky camera off in the options.( also a secret bonus that allows you to use the super forms infinitely would be cool too, they are really cool)( I also like how they take advantage of some older animations and the Noise’s opening animation for the cheese dragon boss and how he realized he probably shouldn’t rely on his bombs)(Peppino’s tweaked super jump is kind of weird though and so is the Noise’s super jump cancel)

This is the first time I’ve ever seen a fully fan created boss/boss restoration for the game and it’s extremely cool
what was loy on when he went on his huge rant about this mod and made a video about it like he just jealous he can’t program in a boss into cheesed up

The biggest win of this mod in development is the fact that it uses the Cheese Dragon Boss and totally reimagines it.

agreed i feel like it should only zoom out whenever peppino is at mach 4 and zoom in during hyper attacks or cutscenes
