I mean it's fucking great that he did that, but the reason firemen don't want you doing stuff like that is because there's a good chance you'll be killed and if that happens you'll just be one more person who died in the fire.

Damn, all the children got out expect a 6 year old girl. He went back inside and found her, with no way back out he went to the second floor, punched open a window and jumped out holding her in his arms. He broke an ankle, was bleeding from his arm. Trying his best to get her not injured. Now that REALLY is a hero!

In the early 00's a friend of mine was in a bad car wreck. Someone ran a red, t-boned him, and he careened into a retaining wall. He ended up pinned. The guy that hit him was driving a stolen car, and just before running off on foot he stopped to rob my friend. Took his gun from the glove compartment, a folder full of CD's, and a backpack full of college textbooks and stuff. Didn't even try to hide it, he was caught on CCTV and everything, but somehow still he was never caught.

The fact that the pizza man asked if that baby was ok before even thinking about his own health makes my heart so happy

Unless you are an influencer, who would've had more practice and be trained to always think of your own image, but as a pizza delivery guy, he just showed off his true responses to a crisis. Reading the news story about this incident: only 4 children were in the house and 3 of them got out on their own. The pizza delivery man actually saved the last child from the second story of the house and jumped out a window to escape the fire with the child

For some additional info on the pizza hero: He was out delivering a pizza when he saw a house on fire, he stopped to call 911 but found he had forgotten his phone, so instead he rushed in to look for anyone and get them out. The children inside were being babysat by an older sibling while they parents were out on a date-night of sorts. The pizza hero managed to get the first few children out, but one kid was still left inside. He went back inside and found the kid downstairs, alone, and managed to get them out despite him saying “(I) wasn’t sure if I’d live”. TLDR: this dude saved people on his first entry into the home, then went back and saved one more kid on top of that. The man is a certified hero.

I was thinking that he should've let the firemen handle it. Not that what he did wasn't admirable, but the firemen could've done it a lot safer. This comment helps explain it a bit better. If the firemen weren't there and he didn't have a way to contact them, it makes more sense. Definitely a hero.

Pizza people are the real deal. When I was a child I remember riding my bike into town and I fell and severely broke my arm, like bone through skin, profuse bleeding... I was very small and in shock, but a pizza employee who was in school to be a nurse helped me to the hospital and stopped the bleeding.

True legend, if only there were more people like him in this world.

That vid of the guy getting jumpscared by that guy behind the window gets me every time

The story of how he went back in and crawled in the dark to save the 6-year-old, jumping out a 2nd story window while cradling her in his arms, is absolutely amazing. He sustained cuts, burns and they removed a lot of silt from his lungs from the smoke inhalation, but I think he's okay now.

Here where I live a man burned both his hands and lost a finger to save a woman and her 2 kids trapped inside their burning car after an accident. Another angel in desguise.

The pizza man was amazing, a true hero without a cape. He asked if the children were safe before worrying about himself, he's selfless, kind and brilliant. Everyone should aim to be like him. I also saw a comment saying that all of the children got out except a 6 year old girl and he went back in to save her. He didn't have a way back out so he went to the second floor, punched a window open and jumped holding her in his arms, he broke an ankle and was bleeding from an arm. Jason (daily dose of internet) also linked the pizza man's gofundme in the description. When I went on to his gofundme, I saw that he got $500k+ donations when the goal was only $100k. Well deserved, a true hero.

Thats the perfect way to describe his heroic actions!

We had similar story in our country, the guy ended up with severe disability, could barely walk, and his face was disfigured, his wife broke up with him, and he could not afford to heal his wounds, he literally had rotting flesh on his body for months and fever without any medical supervison. It taught me a very important lesson, never do heroic things, modern society is not built to appreciate it. Thanks god this guy had publicity, and at the very least will afford the medical bills.

My man was delivering pizza at the right place at the right time, absolute props, hope he's doing alright

Thing to always bare in mind though is, he's only a hero because he saved someone. If he'd charged in there and got stuck without saving anyone, suddenly he could potentially get a firefighter killed when they have to now rescue him aswell. That man is a true hero, and the fact he asked if the Baby was okay before himself as he was injured badly as well makes him a true hero. He has my respect. Hope he's recovering swiftly and will be in full good health soon.

The bat-cat, or cat-bat, was so adorable. They seemed like friends. And even funnier, the cat had a brown spot on its nose that also was shaped like a hanging bat!

That pizzaman is truly an incredible person. I hope he's doing alright now, after being greatly injured during that rescue.

As the mother of a young child, that brave man's actions brought me to tears. If my baby was trapped in a burning building, I would lose my very soul. That man seriously deserves some form of recognition for his incredible selflessness. So glad he and all the kids are doing okay.
