I have 2 major issues with the tech community as it is today. One is that way too many people seem to want to see one brand dominate the industry and that's a terrible idea. The more brands we have in the market the better it is for us the end consumer. The other one is the people that carry a bad experience around with them for years as though the experience they had in 2019 or 2020 is the same as they would have today even though the pace of change in tech has been crazy. A perfect example is someone saying they had a Exynos powered phone in 2020 and it was garbage so they'll never buy another one. I will never understand that mind set.

They'd be right, Exynos is still til this day a highly inefficient SOC compared to Snapdragon. My mom always says, "By their fruits you shall know them", if Samsung doesn't trust Exynos in their Top of the line Flagship, why should I?🤷♂️

When you pay 1k for a phone, and the experience is worse than the same phone sold elsewhere with a different SOC, why would you risk another 1k to see if the made it better or not, especially when the reviews say it`s still worse than the other one? Unless 1k is like a pack of gum for you, I totally understand that :)

I have to agree bro. If I bought the pixel based off numbers and specs, then you could honestly say that I probably shouldn't be enjoying this phone. But in real world usage none of that matters because of the pixel experience that you get is really good. Granted not having the best spec sheet. Those numbers just don't matter like they used to back then

Great video Dale I love my PixelFold it's been one of my main devices since I got it six months ago. Like you I am not going to say Google is perfect I do wish they did get their act together as I have a Pixel 8 that's wonky as hell and hates the Gmail app and I'm locked into a carrier deal with that one. Luckily I salvaged the SIM it's now in my beloved PixieFold.

Hopefully they do better with the 9 series. I heard good things about it. My SIM cards are in my pixel 8 Pro and my pixel phone

I can't say anything bad about Pixel and I do nothing but praise it. So I totally agree that people are always quiet when Google is doing something good and they talk so bad when something bad happens. I love it and haven't looked back I've had the 7 Pro, Fold, and now currently rocking the 8 Pro and the only reason I went from the Fold to the 8 Pro was cause the camera was so much better in my opinion and that matters to me. I travel the world for work and I love taking photos.

I can honestly say that I used to be all Apple until I got bored of it and I saw what functionalities that Samsung and Google phones had. I first went over to Samsung with the S21 Ultra, and that phone was one of my faves, BUT, I started to experience bugs (Samsung Knights, stand down), I still upgraded to the S22 and then the S23 Ultra. I also got a Pixel 7 Pro, and loved it immediately, outside of their little watch lol. Luckily, I connected one of my Galaxy watches to my P7P, because for me, I have to have the watch accessory to a phone. Still anxiously waiting for the Pixel 9 series, but....... the OnePlus 12 has me re-thinking.

I don't think the pixel is not that important to Google that's why they don't put much effort into it. I feel like they use Google to test things out and see if it works. The hand gestures on the pixel 4, the temperature sensor on the 8 pro and the tensor chip for example. All that being said I fell in love with pixels since I got my pixel 3. I skipped the 4 but I had the 5 6 7 and I currently have the 8. I'm probably going to trade up again for the 9 too lol the trade in deals are always good though the Google store

Great video! I think google drop the ball on the regular Pixel 8, but I really like my Pixel 8 Pro. I bought it on sale for $799. I can’t wait until they come out with a smaller Pro model. (Pixel 9 Pro?).

Battery has been great for me. But I do know for some people it's been horrible. Hopefully the Pixel 10 Series is better with their fully custom chip.

There are just a few samsung features that, if they'd come to pixel, I'd switch in a heartbeat.

I was gonna get the pixel 8 pro instead of the flip 5, but when I tried the selfie camera in low light I wasn't pleased at all, it was terrible, so I went with the flip 5 and I love it.

I wanted to be a pixel lover but the cameras have been the only reason to hold back. I've returned Google pixel three times now since the Pixel 5. Pictures are good in proper lighting but when the lights fall, every picture looks darker than necessary.

Maybe that's true, a little bit... Also the hype and the marketing creates an unrealistic picture of the pixel, people expect the pixel to be like that! They expect the finished product and not work in progress....😏 Both sides have a point.

I keeps 2 phones on me. The pixel fold and the one plus open. The pixel fold for the google goodness and the open to fill in the gaps that the pixel fold isnt as good at. I haven't used a slab since 2021 but once google got a foldable? I was all in because before my foldable conversion? I stayed with a pixel.

I have the S24U and the Pixel is a better point and shoot between the two in my opinion. But you are right. Google can't match Samsung's battery and performance. At least not yet. They got some ways to go. 👍🏾

I've been hoping for competition to the Iphone, google got the software and cameras right. If their phones have good performance, reliable battery and connection, I'm in.

For me it's the modem on my pixel 7 . it's just not as consistent as my galaxy s9 . I like everything about the pixel lineup but it's just the modem that annoys me. And I don't want to go to Samsung because of the bloatware but it is superior with its strong modem. But I agree with everything you said in the video. It's either an iPhone or OnePlus for my next device after I finish paying eip on my pixel 7. Maybe I'll wait and see how the pixel 9 lineup performs once it comes out and I'll wait for you to review it. I'm really rooting for the pixel to perform great. I think we all should be rooting for the pixel to succeed. This pushes other companies to improve their products which will only benefit us the consumers. Competition is good for the market

Google has a close bond with samsung as it did with iphone years back it's only a few youtubers that compare the s23 fe to the pixel we can admit apple phones have better performance so does samsung compared to Google.... The pixel chip and performance is on par with snapdragon gen 1 from s22 line up

That's their experience not so mine. Plus I've only can compare with my iPhone, Galaxy and Pixel. And the iPhone and Pixel are on par with day to day performance. That's where the Pixel lags behind the iPhones and Galaxy phones. But if you don't need that raw power it's on par with day to day tasks in my experience

I have the pixel 8 pro and have had it since launch. There are a lot of great features and good things about the pixel. But from my experience there are many negatives too. Android apps still need to be held to a higher standard, iOS apps still have the monopoly. The chip in pixels have a lot of issues and are not as good as competitors. The battery life on pixels is trash. The speakers still aren't as good as or as loud as competitors. Pixel 8 pro just feels mid-range when I'm looking at a Samsung Galaxy Ultra or iPhone Pro Max. I prefer Apple and iOS but I really want to see what the Pixel will do and will be in a few more years. They have so much potential and I want to love the Pixel experience. Love the video.

I would love to get a pixel, but they haven't got it right yet especially in the camera department, people really do care about the camera allot on phones, that is why allot of iPhone users went over to Samsung s24 ultra, so I'll wait until they finally have a excellent camera that out performs apple and Samsung until then I'll hold off for now.

@DalevonDigital I've watched over 50 different reviews on camera quality on all three phone brands like apple, samsung and Google, and most of them agreed that the Samsung was the better shooter. However, video is where the iPhone 15 shines. The Pixel often over sharpens the image but retains natural colors. All in all, Samsung tends to come out on top, and many iPhone users switched to the Samsung S24 Ultra specifically for that reason. Don't get me wrong, I like the Google Pixel and wanted to really like it, but when I tried them in person, the Pixel wasn't it at all. Hopefully, when Google really goes all out and works on addressing all these issues and invests heavily in the camera hardware and software departments, I'm pretty sure everyone will switch to Google when they do so because people care a lot about camera quality on mobile phones. That's the main reason people switch phones. Google already has a great UI, so there's no need to update those things. Just focus on making the sensors much bigger and tweaking the software to work with the sensors to create exceptional image quality in all lighting conditions. Maybe that's the Pixel 9 or 10, who knows? But for me and others like myself, the cameras are not there yet. When they do, Samsung and Apple will be in big trouble.

I agree on everything but about the camera. I don't really go off reviews much respect to them creators but I don't agree with them. I go off my own experience. I do own all 3 phones and I would always pick the Pixel for photos, pick the iPhone for video and pick Samsung for neither. But everyone's experience is different.

I've been team Pixel since the Pixel 2 XL and I can honestly tell you that the biggest haters against this phone company are phone reviewers. It's like they were personally told to tear down anything that Google is doing. I've been watching them do so for years now. Some of the biggest tech names out there has been guilty of this. And yes, Google does have some problems that they need to iron out but it's not as bad as (Samsung) exploding batteries or (Apple) slowing down your phones performance over time along with plenty other issues they don't address.

i know this is a tech channel, no bias. But i say you focus more on pixel and the google ecosystem. And give out more news and open opinions like this. What you said right here is a bomb even MKBHD is scared to drop.

I considered myself to be a Google Pixel fanboy I don't care but I owned a Pixel phones since the Pixel 2 XL and I upgrade every year and I want Google Pixel 10 to succeed with the new Chip

Google needs a real desktop OS like macOS. google should have made a real iMessage competitor. I have Pixel 8 Pro. had pixel 7. I quit Samsung, don't like their cameras. they are over sharpened junk imo. I also have iPhone 15 pro. The pixel 8 pro is just as good as the current iPhone. I am buying Pixel 9 Pro sight unseen.

Yeah I don't like chromeOS which is there desktop OS. I want something that can install real programs.

Google needs to start by fixing selfies - they are HORRIBLE. The preview image on my Pixel 7A looks good BEFORE the STOOOOOPID processing. It makes my face look like a grater. So Disgusting. PLEASE REMOVE the processing on selfies GOOGLE.

I took some selfies for the first time. On a pixel, the other day and I have to agree. The front cameras are boo boo

HAHAHA I have experienced the same with Xiaomi and earlier on Sony phones. Better products than the status quo = let's try to make it look bad. On the real though people be hating untill we do a camera shoot out, especially at night conversation is over 🤣

Pixels get the heat because of Google's stupid decisions. I own a pixel 7 and have these gripes no 5G, no VoLTE, feature restrictions all because of regions locks. Even iPhones aren't sold in my country but all these are available to me

The experience is different for everyone I don't expect universally everyone will like it or even have good experience with it. Tech will be tech and tech isnt perfect. My homie also had a very bad experience with the Pixel 8 and her exchanged it 3x and still had the same bad experience

I mostly had screen responsiveness issues. Often, it just wouldn't recognize my touch, especially if I was lying back. I love the S24+ I replaced it with.

Google needs SEAMLESS AND NATIVE cloud and FULL ecosystem with well build, aluminium laptop.

I think the tribal thing is an issue though. I think a lot of us get competition confused with tribalism and that is why this country's so gotdamn divided. And if no one believes me why are we just now getting to the issue of the bubbles Green bubble blue bubble. It doesn't matter but iPhone users are quick to make anybody feel like crap if they don't have an iPhone. Just because you have an iPhone doesn't mean that makes you any better than the person standing next to you with a pixel phone and it doesn't sure as hell make you any richer...

You speak about them but in reality you try to minimize Pixel issues, speaking about haters and fanboying and fear because of your great experience. Nobody fears Google. People are disapointed by Google ( included me ) and adress facts. If Google team fixes issues and weirdness, people will buy Pixel. Simple

The last thing I'd ever want to see Google do is become like Apple.

For me I just don't want the lock in tactics and the force to upgrade tactics. But I do want a more seamless ecosystem like Apples but from Google.

The problem i have with Pixel is that they refuse to use a flagship processor in their phone. Instead they use a midrange chip, or chip on a par with 3 or 4 year old flagship phone, and charde it 1000$. And than they try to convince you that you dont need any better. Which I find stupid. Even basic day to day stuff are visibly sluggish

Mine isn't sluggish with day to day tasks. Sorry for your experience. But I care more for Google focusing on the chip and getting it. The Pixel 10 series is looking promising.

😂 My fear is Google will look for an exit in the near future. I will let all of the big three have it I left Sam's I left 🍏 and now I'm gonna see what OP has to offer

I don’t think in all my years of tech for 20+ years I’ve ever even seen a pixel device in the wild. Okay maybe 3 times. Samsung dominated the android market in the US. The numbers show it not anecdotal YT videos. I love the pixel it’s a solid phone but honestly no one knows about it.

That's crazy that you've never seen one. Are you a country that sells them. I'm in the US I see them all the time. Not as much as Samsung and Apple but they are definitely out there.

I love Pixel phones. However, the issue is the seven year update. Gatekeeping features to sell more phones makes it a non selling point.

First of all the tensor chip is garbage compared to snapdragon, next they took the charger out of the box trying to copy iPhone and Samsung, and last and this is the most important part the battery life does not even compared to iPhone Samsung or even OnePlus or any other phone on the market

The truth google need to get it together connections problems etc but they could win but to many problems

When they decide to stick a snapdragon back in it then they will be the top dog. Google using a Samsung Exynos chip and calling it Tensor. Well what do you know... You are a Samsung Knight again 👍🏽

I would rather them go fully custom like they plan to in 2025. They do not need Snapdragon. I prefer them to control all hardware and software like Apple for a better and seamless experience. So I rather wait.
