Looking on the specification. Pixel 6A has a 12.2 megapixel main sensor with dual phase detection autofocus and OIS and a regular 12 megapixel ultra wide with 114° field of view. Both of the rear cameras can shoot up to 4K60 FPS with gyro, EIS and OIS. While the selfie is an older eight megapixel shooter that can only shoot 1080p at 30 FPS.
Then the newer Pixel 8 has a 50 megapixel sensor with the bigger 1/1.31 inch sensor. Almost twice the size of Pixel 6a and it also has dual face detection autofocus and OIS with laser autofocus. It is also combined by a regular 12 megapixel Ultra wide with autofocus and like Pixel 6A. The rear camera can shoot up to 4k 60fps.
There's an upgrade on the selfie as the resolution is now 10.5 megapixel on Pixel 8 with a wider 20 mm field of view. There's also an upgrade on the video resolution as the new Pixel 8 can shoot up to 4K 60 FPS.

I paid $100 for my Pixel 6a on Ebay locked to T Mobile in perfect condition. The 6a takes better pictures than any Samsung flagship as I have an s22 and my 6a craps on my friends S23 Ultra for simple snap and shoot pictures especially in Portrait mode. Now, the Pixel 8 is a great phone and "better" in most areas, but I STILL prefer most shots on the 6a. I can buy any phone I want, and have had flagship Samsung Notes in past, but my old Pixel 3 and now the 6a with stock Android are more satisfying to use regardless of price. IF I need or want a new phone, I will probably pick up a used Pixel 8 down the road, but I use my 6a all day for work with GPS, calling patients and families, emailing, and checking my stocks/social media and get through entire work day with battery to spare. If you don't have the money or are like me, choose to get most bang for buck, get a 6a or 7a and you will be good to go for the next 2-3 years.

On my market, Pixel 6a in shops where it remains available, is on the price level of 7a. Not that good of a deal then. Gonna wait a month if XDA manages to unlock the Pixel 8 camera restrictions. Kinda annoying to have some features software locked by Google.

I dont know i really dont understand but it feels so satisfying to take a picture on my pixel 6a and i can't help but to like it because its clean this is probably the best phone I've ever purchased. I had my share of Samsungs but this this phone is something else. Always heard my wife say i need to experience this phone and now i finally have. Was gonna buy the 6pro because i liked them but they were out of stock so i bought the sage 6a and i thought i wouldn't like it and now honestly the feel of the phone in my hand is tender to touch and the software is clean. Few glitches but i like it still every phone made aren't perfect but when yu can find a phone fit for yu then its a win.
I would like to request pixel 6 vs pixel 8. I feel like my pixel takes terrible images it always says to back up so it's not blurry it almost always struggles to focus and there isn't anything wrong with my phone. Please do the pixel 6 vs pixel 8

One thing I'd ask is camera version of each phone I know for me the older versions of pixel camera tend to do better for my 6a.

I agree with you. My 4a's photos are better than 6a 's
Currently I have a Google pixel 8 Pro which I'm giving to my older brother. I just ordered a pixel 6A open box for $249. I actually like the smaller form factors of this phone and how light it is. So when you're going to the gym in shorts it's not pulling your pants down. I have owned every Google phone since the Nexus 6 and have to admit Dad. The cameras are all fantastic. For your average consumer, you're really not going to know the differences unless you pixel peep. I probably won't buy another ultra or pro version of the pixel phone until they stop putting 1-in sensors in there with their software, which would be incredible. Waiting to see what the Sony Xperia One Mark 6 brings to the table this year.
it's still confusing why google WOULD NOT PUT AN OPTICAL ZOOM in their base models. Samsung always include it in their base models

Pixel 6a takes flagship photos even in 2024 period. The only thing I don't like is the battery life isn't great. Enough for 1 day but barely if you're a heavy user.

The Pixel 6a is completely worth it in 2024, I bought it and it's amazing. Great camera, very good battery, very good software and there are still updates to come.
