They are both awsome. But pixel has a few features i cant give up: better voice to text, call features, better assistant, proper scheduled text messaging, better keyboard, web browser text client, insanely good recorder app. I may be missing a few but that sums it up overall. I swapped from the iPhone 14 Pro Max and I don't think I could go back. Is also worth noting that the pixel watch 2 is very good overall.

Android is a great product. The problem is Google scraping personal data. Can’t trust Google with personal data. Apple explicitly states it does not sell or provide personal data to third parties. Google is silent on this.

Same! Apple isn't offering anything innovative or compelling at this time. If they ever do, revisit them. For now, stick with the Pixel devices. There are so many quality of life features that once you don't have them your iPhone starts to feel not that smart.

The screen feels like it's small and narrower than the 14 pro max and that's what bothers me the most idk if it's just iOS is more zoomed but how do you feel about that even my brother Samsung s22+ looks wider screen it just makes the phone look like a candy bar

Apple isn’t offering anything innovative or compelling at this time. If they ever do, I will revisit them. For now, I’m sticking with the Pixel 8 Pro it just has good quality of life features plus I take more pics than video. And I’m sure in December Video Boost is going to take the Pixel video quality to the next level.

I prefer everything Android... but the feature gap between Android and iOS shrinks year by year as smartphones mature, and it's small enough now to the point where my desire for a small premium phone trumps my preference for Android customize-ability, so I've ended up on a 15 pro. While the software is annoying sometimes, I enjoy not having to lug a tablet around in my pocket. Shame because if there was a 6.1" version of the Pixel 8 pro I would've chosen that

I own both of these devices since day 1 and my sim (esim) has been more in the Pixel, more quality of life features and honestly the speed of the device is really on par with the IPhone no matter what the benchmark numbers say. I'm excited what the future holds for the Pixel 8 Pro, definitely more than I can say for the IP15Max

I have compared my Iphone 15 to Pixel 8 Pro. The good thing about 8 Pro is you have more control - you can use night mode whenever you want even in daylight and thats with 50MP and HDR. For a fast shooter, Iphone may be better, but if you have time to take the photo, 8 pro quality is better imho. I wish though they have provided some sharpening or color profiles, I would reduce sharpening and reduce blue/red for better color reproduction (I actually liked Iphone color balance more sometimes). Pixel 8 pro is a little bit unpredictable, my camera app crashed a few times, also it may be buffering photos if you shoot fast and may prevent you to take another photo.

The zoom feature and the iPhone 15 Pro Max blows away the Google pixel 8 Pro. I have the pro I had the iPhone 15 pro max.. you don't believe me going to an Apple store and play with the zoom feature. It zooms out a lot further than the pixel does and it's clear.

Thanks for this. After 16 yrs of iPhone, I tried PIxel 8 Pro and have to go back to iPhone for all the same reasons!

The temperature sensor was cool in theory but.. Something more useful would've been an IR blaster? For, and with all the amount of devices in a home a majority of them are IR (if it's not wifi connected). Be it TVs, Soundbars, AC/fans, even lights (popularly LED floor lamps), certain appliances as well like some garages, etc etc; effectively it'd be nice to have *one remote* as opposed to multiple for each one. That one remote conveniently being the device you also use the most on hand (no pun intended), and it's an easy "we didn't have to, but because we can & it's cheap ((.. Cheaper than an Infrared thermometer & software developed for it*)) here ya go!" Of course, I -personally- would've preferred faster charging or something that's functional but also noticeable. Even an S23 ultra has 45W charging lol & not including the more 'extreme' competitors with 120/240Watts of charging which is... Alot. Unnecessarily, but kind of goes to show when and where shortcuts are made Idk.

They could make the temp sensor useful for insurance if it ean in the background and you go out whilst on holiday amd its 20+ degrees or Fahrenheit it could lower the battery throttling to keep the device cooler and adapt the screen to the light and temp combined ornif its a cooler day the battery could throttle a little more without danger of overheating which could give the 7year of updates battery life equivalent even if other phone manufacturers bring this in it could help out as well even if the medical law passes it can be used for intention as well which is a plus

@@jon4lakers like for instance a rog gaming phone there all about keeping the phone cool with inbuilt fans ext but if they had a thermometer installed and someone lets say in norway or anywhere with constant snow or ice cold weather the phone would pick up on this therefore not activating the fans and cooling untill its absolutely no other option there for creating more battery efficiency and less throttling meaning phone last a lot longer genius 👍

I have both. My 15 pro has been sitting a drawer since i got the pixel 8 pro The only reason I would ever pick up my iPhone is for iMessage. And now that I have the beeper app running on my pixel 8 Pro, I can access all my iMessage there..no need for an iphone for anything. There isn't any one thing I like better on the iPhone

Well considering all discounts I've seen with both, if both were sitting on the table and I could pick only one I'd pick the iPhone 15 pro max too. I've seen it nearly double the price of the lowest i've seen the Pixel 8 pro listed so it's definitely has more value. It's also the phone I own and would choose despite the higher price.

Anyone else thinking how Jon is getting EIGHT hours of SCREEN TIME? I'm barely getting FIVE hours on mine -______-

I’m late to this, but I think Google took some notes from Apple. They’ve allowed other Android phone manufacturers to cook, “now it is time for Google to cook” would be the best words since they are working even more with their own stuff than ever before. They are improving Google with their own devices and computers, but let’s hope it is in a way that it gets Pixel and Chrome OS users to actually develop Google softwares faster and better than what still exists in Search.

If I didn’t use iOS for music I would buy a pixel. Everything else about productivity and quality of life enhancement is much better with google. Also all your photos on the pixel look much better, I would leave my camera at home most days unless I want to take pro shots and I use a Panasonic mirrorless.

My 8 Pro always gets hot for no reason. Never experienced that with any other phone before

Whats interesting now is every year Googles jump in software and hardware is bigger than apple , every leap forward apple takes Google seem ro take 2 , so i think with the 9 pro apple will be trailing . I had to let my 15 pro max go and now rocking the Pixel 8 pro , ans actually enjoiying the pixel watch more than my apple watch , Slicker and simplistic. Also when it comes to next year I think we all know the iPhone will be slightly different, but we don't know what Google will do as easily, so a bit more exciting.

I have the pixel 7 pro and the iPhone 15 pro max and I have to say the hardware is better on the iPhone but the pixel software absolutely kills it! The only reason I switched to the iPhone was for better video, battery life and processing speeds. If google improves these features It will absolutely be the best phone on the market.

I was on the Pixel, but the iPhone just has more features I prefer.

Got it. If you want professional videos go iphone otherwise go pixel for everything else. So I pick iPhone as winner. Is this guy for real? Common people are not video editors. They need great voice assistant and Siri sucks. When you see the future, isnt it clear to see which company is innovative?

Both actually have displays made by Samsung.

@@jon4lakers Yes, they all have their own calibration of the displays. Same with TVs.. Except a handful of newer Q-OLED models then basicly all OLED TVs on the market use LG panels but with their own calibration and tuning of the brightness.

I disagree. The pixel 8 Pro is a much better phone. I've had all the iPhones and I actually traded it in to get the pixel that I've been using it pixel phone since the pixel 4.

My Google Pixel 2 xl was great until it died. Panicked so i purchased iphone 15 pro max due to Googles bullshit false info at checkout.( Google Pixel 8 pro) It was supposed to be delivered in less then 1 week so I purchased it.Once i got the email it showed to be delivered 3 weeks to 4. This happened 4 times .Gave up & got the iPhone 15 pro max. The camera is WAY BETTER on the iphone the zoom is unbelievable unlike the pixel 8 pro( which Im using now,ill explain) Sound quality,pictures, connectivity siri ,all better than Hoogle. Have you noticed everything is iPhone compatible? Think about it. Anyway couldn't stand the way iphones picture app works( most recent is at the bottom where Google bits at the top. Couldn't turn off the camera sound on iPhone unless you lower the volume ( Google's is off by default, gives you options unlike iPhone) I missed the Pixel customization,where iPhone is proprietary!. I was able to return iPhone to the Apple store after 6 weeks. Bestbuy had the Pixel 8 Pro & said 4 days i would have it.I ordered it & got it in less than 4 days. I'm starting to hate this pixel phone this BS temperature, whatever idiot came up with that.. there's still issues with this phone which is annoying. Yeah the pixel 8 Pro comes with 7 years warranty. Guess what? My last phone didn't even last 5 years without the battery going bad and I'm not a heavy user.. so I think the battery on the pixel 8 is going to be dead way before 7 years. I actually opened up my pixel 2 XL. I just have to get a battery and I'm good as new..

Apple becoming more open is just a consequence of EU regulations kicking their butt. USB-C and opening up to alternative app stores were both mandates by the EU.

I switched from Android to Apple after about using it since the first G phone. There is absolutely nothing I miss from Android outside of maybe the animated wallpapers and google assistant as the default. Outside of that my iPhone always works and unlike when I used pixels, nexuses etc among one plus and Samsungs with constant restarts and apps that never were as good as they are on apple I am so glad with the switch. I prefer the way apples products works between the two and like I said for me it isn’t even close any more. Apple Watch shits on anything android beings, air pods pros also lead the game for me and iPads are so far ahead I don’t think Android will ever catch up and of course the iPhone for me is awesome. Some really good Android phones out there but yeah I’ll take the reliability of the iPhone over the Androids any day of the week.

Let’s just stop with the 7 year support BS. Very rarely do people hold onto their phones for more than 3 years. Being how weak the Tensor processors are, they will get outdated after 2-3 years. My Pixel 6 already slows down and is a little buggy.

The iphone 14 pro max camera sucks.

iOS keyboard is getting useless every day. For someone who uses their phone to type a lot, this is an absolute deal breaker. Only if Pixel can play the eco system game, I will jump the train.

I'm so glad you can stand apart for reviews. So many modern tech reviewers are just Marquess wannabees, on down to their Teslas. It's like every review is just a regurgitated summary of someone else's review. And It's the same with handing everyone a trophy. They always try to level the playing field without pissing Apple off for their weaknesses. I know you chose Apple, but I feel like you were honest about why. I'm also thinking about going back to Apple for ease of sharing videos. Like honestly, what good are high resolution photos and videos if you can't share them ? And people say you can share them on IG and Facebook - but the compression is terrible! Don't get me wrong, I like my Android features and the amazing zoom on the S23 Ultra, but it's a pain trying to share all the beautiful videos and pictures it can take. Samsung has gotten a lot better video wise - but it has another 18% to go to be comparable to an iPhone.
