@Saša MKVC Maybe, but would you rather choose Windows phone with excellent camera or Android phone that has cameras that are almost as good as windows phone. Huawei doesn't have Google services which makes os crappy.

Thanks mate for putting such a detailed video together for us! I had the Pixel 3a but due to an unfortunate drop and completely destroying of the screen, I went ahead and purchased the IPhone SE. I love the phone but miss the Night Mode though since I have purchased the “NeuralCam” and “ProCam7” apps for the apps store, I can’t complain anymore lol. I think the 4K video at 60fps is stunning. For a $400 dollar phone I think it’s bang for the buck. Might consider the Pixel 5 at some point but for right now, I’ll stay the course with my SE.

What a great video. An actual useful and practical day 1 video, unlike many others who just do a review. You made a fan outta me

Megatron EX1127 ok we both watched the same video with the same samples and supersaf literally showing where the pixel fell short in the back camera video department. It was fairly clean but the stabilization was bad because it overcorrected too much which looks unnatural.

Very helpful video! Loved this comparison and the time you put into it

My thought process when it comes to the colors, with the crisp photos on the Pixel you can brighten the image afterwards and have a great photo. With the SE it's significantly harder to lower the brightness and keep a good looking photo. I feel like it really comes down if you want to take the couple of seconds per photo to tweak the brightness or not.

There is a beauty mode integrated in the stock camera app (access by swiping down) - but just on the front camera. So if one feels the selfies have too much detail, then they can use this mode. I vastly prefer it this way compared to how companies like Samsung do it. They force shitty wax-paintings on you. I much rather have a true-to-life and detailed image.

@@ostaps3464 Afaik, Google Camera does by default put the "Face Retouching" to Natural mode instead of having it off out of the box which kinda oversharpens the image a bit. The sharpening we see here is mostly with the default settings so the Natural Retouching is probably enabled, yes.

Pixel's daytime video quality was significantly better. I didn't expect it to have better video than the iPhone. The SE overexposed his face so bad. With Google's 3 years software support and custom ROMs support. The pixel will actually last longer than the SE

I think the SE had a bit of a problem with the sun and the lense in that shot. That's why everything just looks a bit off in it, and you have the weird lenseflare

Very good camera test one more time. I'm very impressed by the dynamic range, the stabilisation and the natural colours of the pixel 4a.

And it's even cheaper! No brainier as for me. I'll leave that phone from 2015 for zombie apple fans. It's too old

@@dennis4088 pixel does have all this also, probably biggest downside is plastic body, but if you put phone in case, it doesn't matter so much. Probably OS updates won't be for 5 years, but i don't care much, i don't use same phone for 5 years, so i will be comfortable enough with 2-3 years of updates. And the price makes big difference. 5.8" OLED for $350 with google vanilla software - I'll take it. 4.7" IPS for $400 - meh. It's compact, but display size is too small. And I can't believe they put high performance CPU but the phone cant do a night mode photography. For $400 Apple gives not to much.

1 minute in the video pixel already won the whole thing.

I'd definitely chose the Pixel any day. Btw you can enable the skin smoothing feature on the Pixel if you don't like the very sharp look it has, so it's not really a problem. The portrait mode on the front camera was definitely better on the iPhone though!

Look at the skin texture from the iPhone its almost like its trying to replicate a filter. The texture is smooth and i don't like that

Worth mentioning that the Pixel actually has 3 options for face smoothing - Off, Natural, and Smooth (swipe down on the portrait screen to options).

Hi, great review. However one thing that’s important to me is how well the camera captures moving images. I work with rescue dogs and often have to take pictures of them running around at high speed. I would love to see how well different phones do at capturing things moving at speed.

What happened to the Pixel video quality? OMG what a huge progress! I'd say it's on par and even better in some aspects now! Dynamic range on the front facing cam is miles ahead, for example. Re-focusing speed seems also a bit faster on the 4a. Both detect the need to change focus with the same ridiculously small delay, but then the 4a instantly focuses, the SE take a while more in the process. Still very much acceptable tho. a very timely video. very useful and helpful.

Personally I prefer the SE's exposure and color, but I definitely prefer all of the features like the night light mode and portrait mode on the Pixel, plus I can just take the 10 seconds to toss on a quick filter on the pixels photos. Overall especially with the far nicer look of the pixel I would prefer the 4a, the screen is 1.1 inches larger, and also it doesn't have a glass back which means you wont be having to pay apple hundreds of dollars to replace it, or anybody anything to replace it. Plus, android is just my personal preference over IOS.

Great job on the video... Night mode better on the 4a , but for $2:99 can download neutral app for the iPhone SE and it takes night mode pics... it all comes down to do you want Android and iOS phone. The major plus with SE is the processor as it will stay fast for years, for the pixel I would say the major plus is the screen compared to the iPhone SE. I had the pixel 3a which was good at great but sold it as it was starting to get a little bit sluggish and I end up getting the SE 2020 and I'm quite happy with.
