Kevin Otero I'm on the OnePlus 5 with a stable 8.0 ROM Yeah, not 8.1 but there's really no big difference except the Easter egg and some design changes which I also have, plus extra customizations since it's a Custom ROM ;) And there are 8.1 ROMs out there as well anyways but I just prefer this specific ROM I'm on, even if it's a 0.1 version behind (Liquid Remix if anybody is interested)

Exynos is better at multitasking. And faster in general.. but because some apps are better optimised for Snapdragon, it might fall behind in some cases.. I have Exynos 8895 version, and I love it. Edit: Galaxy S8 exynos. (Note8 is snapdragon only)

Op5 is still winner! Luckily samsung beat the pixel 2 xl since it had an extra 2 gigs of ram....but still samsung has improved a lot, making sure that the note series is always there in the top league when it comes to speed tests. And i left all my work just to watch this video. WORTH IT!

Since this is a tech channel I'll ask a question here. I have the note 4 so does my mom and dad, and recently all our phones have been having some battery problems. The phone shuts down automatically as it gets closer to half battery, even if the battery is at 66%, and I tried changing the batteries but it still didn't go away. What the hell is wrong with it?

magicstick5 The problem is aggressive ram management to increase battery life. Pixel had deleted most apps from ram on the second lap. This was on purpose and not a lack of optimization.

Pixel's bezels may still be kind of big but it looks infinitely better than it did last year, and in my opinion is one of the best looking phones of the year, only second to the Note 8. Note 8 has some speed, but it isn't nearly as fast as either of the pixel or the One Plus. I don't want to be rude and immediately assume that you're just another samsung fanboy who disregards anything else but that is what it seems like so at least try to be more open minded.

one issue that the pixel 2 XL has is the android Oreo update as it will close background apps you need to disable that to get a better result

i.e.: more ram > stock android

I owned the One plus 3 and knew the One plus 5t would be quicker than the Note 8. I bought the Note 8 because of the minimal differences in speed, increase of ram, and the extras. Glad I did.

Even if the resolution did make a difference, that wouldn't make the test inaccurate. He is testing the overall speed of the phone, as is, with the screen resolution, ram, clock speed, and software optimization at play.

So many gimmicks in today's phones it's not even funny. - Water resistance? Never needed it. - Wireless charging? Meh. - SD card? 128gb is more than enough for me. - Camera? I don't try to use my phone as a DSLR so I don't care to buy phones just for their camera. - "Bezeless"? Pure marketing. If nobody came out with "bezeless" phones this year nobody would be saying bezels are outdated. - Good speakers? Nobody who's serious about listening to music would use phone speakers. - Assistant? Useless, since most things are still better done if I simply tap my phone. I'm not stupid enough to say that having all of those above features suddenly make a phone better. Honestly, what makes a phone good to me is - speed, functionality, and usability. I want instant results when using my phone, no bloatware, having a headphone jack, etc. I'd gladly trade a slightly inferior display (which mind you, still has decent ppi at 1080p), for the speed and usability from the 1+5. People are acting like 2017 flagships phones mean it's 1440p or go home, whilst most people who are using desktop/laptops computers for gaming etc. are still on 1080p, with a much lower ppi on the desktop due to larger screens. I haven't even been a fan of 1+, barely taking notice of any of their older products, but the amount of gimmick people look for to justify a phone being "flagship" this year is quite ridiculous.

Your finger swipes are consistently fractionally faster with the Pixel 2XL. Was this intentional or did you forget your pacing? Side note, pretty close results across the board. I'd imagine the Exynos version of the Note 8 would fare even better.

Eh I'd rather not have OnePlus spying on me and my usage. I'd rather not spend $900 for a Note 8. The Pixel 2 XL is underwhelming for it's "clean" UI & it's price. Who wins? My wallet.

golden foxa I'm calling out OnePlus because they have been caught taking personal information about everybody that uses their phones without consent. Ex: When you turn on your phone, your MAC Address, phone number, Serial number, etc. This was fairly recent as well. At least if Google is doing it; they aren't doing it by using "analytics" as an excuse or been caught.

visionary911 To be fair there is a feature to deactive that and they've recently added where you can remove it the first time you activate the phone
