Seamus Gorman Hey Seamus! I have a Pocahontas theory. I think Tiger Lilly is Pocahontas' mom! They look similar, and I have a backing theory. So after the events of Peter Pan, Tiger Lily has to marry a new chief (Pocahontas' dad). She soon has a child (Pocahontas). Hook ambushes Peter and Tiger Lilly goes to help fight Hook. She dies in the fight by the hand of Hook and his crew. This would explain why Pocahontas was so scared by sails! Her father could have told her the story of how her mother died, and she was then scared of sails, thinking there were pirates coming towards her island! I think this would be a cool theory, and please respond.

Here is the problem I have with the "Violet is adopted" theory. A. Violet and Jack-Jack have the same eye colour in the second. B. Violet has a similar appearance to her mother (face, eye, mouth types.) C. Her hair reflects her shy, awkward, sarcastic and emotional teenage personality. It was one of the hardest things for Pixar to animate but it "defines who she is". When she ties it back she becomes more confident and strong. Also why is no one making a theory on how Edna knew everyone's measurements?

What if...now hear me out on this... Violet is not the result of an affair, adopted, or a genetic anomaly, but is instead Helen's daughter from a past relationship. Here's my thought, Helen and Zerik (sorry if I'm spelling that wrong) were intimate. Helen got pregnant, by Zerik, with Violet. Shortly after, he turns evil and they break it off. The now pregnant Helen has a few options for when the baby is born, either give the child up, raise the child herself, or find a partner to help her. Enter Bob. The two may have known each other prior, or they may have only recently met, doesn't matter. Helen and Bob date, and before they marry, Helen reveals that she's pregnant via her ex, and has been since before she was Bob. Bob, who has stated he wants kids in the interview video we're shown at the beginning of the movie, it being the late 50's where an unmarried woman with a baby would be looked down on, and he really does love her, decides to propose to Helen. The two marry, and Violet is born shortly thereafter. Later Bob and Helen have two sons, and Violet suffers her identity crisis of being different even in a family of Supers. Since Helen can stretch like she can, I think she could very easily have hidden her pregnancy until after she married Bob, and fake a belly after Violet's born to make the pregnancy timeline match with her marriage, so that people don't think shes lascivious. The genetics matchup and the movie could easily have taken place in the months between the Parr's anniversary and Violet's birthday, which explains why she's fourteen despite being conceived before the wedding date. Plus, Helen is not unfaithful Bob, Violet has a better statistical chance of looking like she does, and that whole "in your blood" comment Helen gives Violet can be taken as Helen knows that Vi can find a way because Helen found a way WITH VIOLET! I'm sorry this was so long, I hope you like my theory!

Red hair is double recessive. Meaning both parents have to be carriers of the gene that causes red hair in order for their kids to have red hair. If one parent lacks the gene then their kids will likely have a different hair colour. To have redhead kids you don't need to have red hair yourself. For example, say someone on both sides of your family married someone with red hair and had kids. Those kids, wither or not they themselves are redheads carry the gene that causes red hair. Over the generations that trait gets carried over until we get to your parents. So if your dad has black or brown hair he is still a carrier of the red hair gene, most likely from his parent or even a grandparent or later. Same thing for your mom. So when your parents have you, since both of your parents carry the red hair gene you end up far more likely to have red hair.

After watching this video, I kinda agree with Violet adopted Reasons: 1. She has black hair, which I don't think can be past down genetically. (Call me out for being wrong but..just a thought) 2. Lunar Eclipse that's not how genetics work black is a dominant gene trait and even though both her parents obviously carry recessive genes as long as one grandparent or even great grandparent from each side had a black hair gene it's possible for her to have black hair. My friend has brown hair and big blue eyes and both her parents have dark hair and dark eyes but she looks just like her grandma who has the exact same coloring so it's not necessary for her to get her coloring from her parents.

That is entirely plausible because blonde hair is recessive. If your parents each have a blonde allel they have a chance of 1/4 to get a child with blond hair, without being blonde themselves. That's different with dark hair.

This just reminded me of something I learned from my family. My grandmother and grandfather had dark hair and blue and brown eyes. But each child they had had different looks. My mother had black hair with greenish grey eyes, my aunt had black hair but had brown eyes, and my uncle was blonde with brown eyes. But they were all related but none of them looked like they could've been from the same parents, but they did! But I wanna talk about my uncle because Violet could be the same as him. My uncle's hair became darker as he grew up, he went from blonde to now black, he had black hair since he was in start of highschool and he didn't dye it since it grows black from the roots. There is a term for people who have this trait but I forgot about it, but Violet could be like him. She could've had hair like her brothers but it grew darker as she got older so that's how she has her today hair. Or ya know, she could've dyed it or her grandparents had dark hair

Most likely did. Besides, there's way more chances of Violet having dark hair than her having a twin. Besides, most teenagers dye their hair at that age. Specially (and it pains me s bit to say this) emo kids. And yes, sadly this probably means that... yes... Violet was probably emo. As much as we might not like it, but uts reflected all over her character (at the behinning of the movie, anyway). Her shiness, her attitude, her hairstyle (covering her face), her clothes (dark colors, long sleeves), heck, even her name (violet, kinda like purple, but darker, lots of emo kids use it).

Two people with blonde and black hair are most likely to produce brown haired children. Black hair is just a much darker version of brown hair, which is dominant. Also, the green eyes gene usually only shows up in combination with the brown eyes gene (that's the part that's unusual from your parents). How two blue eyed people can produce the brown eyed trait (and thereby green eyes) is the only part that's really unusual or complicated (though still very possible).

I wholeheartedly support the idea of Elastagirl and Mr. Incredible taking in Violet after her parents died (or maybe after one went villain). Violet could have strengthened the guise of civilians that the supers had to wear when the world turned against them. It gave them less chance of being caught and, well, when a friend charges you to protect their child, you do exactly that. Either way, Violet is still Bob and Helen's daughter. They raised her and they loved her. Having her villain daddy or mommy come back for her and try to teach her the true extent of her powers could be a fun route to take.

I think that it's hair dye. However, it's very possible that Violet got her hair color from an older generation of her family tree. Bob's parents could've had one of them having black hair and the other a light blonde (hence his blonde hair). It's very possible to get your hair color influenced by older genes hiding away to be past down to a newer generation.

Violet's hair colour could be the result of a recessive gene in both her parents. Like the same with the eyes Let's say bob has two genes one for his hair colour and one recessive gene from his parents. So let's give these genes G and b. G for blonde since it's close to gold and b for black. Now let's do the same with Helen. C for her hair colour and b for black B is a recessive gene so would require two of the same genes to be dominant while ther other types need only the one gene since they are dominant In a basic gene table you get something like this X G | b C| CG | Cb ------------------ b| Gb | bb The most likely inherited gene combination would be one dominant and one recessive gene aka Gb is Dash's gene combo and Cb is probably Jack-Jack's while Violet has the double recessive gene combo.

This had bugged me *forever* but I just figured Pixar was focused on Violet's character design reflecting her personality and didn't worry about family resemblance. She's shy and gloomy so her hair is made dark and covers her face (kind of like a curtain) to illustrate that. Or maybe they intentionally made her look different from her family to sorta illustrate how she feels like she doesn't fit in with anyone. But tbh they probably didn't expect people to look into it as much as they have.

Ok, possibly a little far fetched but in the venue at bob and Helen's wedding there is a black haired super. (Second row, third in) She must be close to bob or Helen if she is at there wedding, and she looks reasonably young. Is it possible she had a child with some unknown super, but because she was young didn't feel responsible enough to have the life of a child to tend for, and because Hellen and bob were just married she asked them if they wanted to 'claim' there daughter. Last thing, I may be crazy but on her top it looks a little like a force field.

AzielAlone I see your point, but I feel like we are thinking about it too much. because the like needs to be drawn somewhere. it stands to reason if you want to follow the science behind chemically during hair and it being a stain and thus part of her. then we should also take into account that she would be blind too. since you know her eyes are invisible too and therefore cannot absorb light allowing for her to see. but I digress. my main issue is that everyone perceives her as emo. I just don't see that as the case.

Her mom's hair is the one that is dyed... so violet doesn't have to necessarily have red hair; while red hair is possible from black or blonde (Jack Jack). My main issue is that people think violet is emo, and based solely on that think her hair is dyed. I don't think she was emo. And her mom's hair is hi-lighted... hi-lighted!

Plot twist: Seamus knows that all of these theories aren't true because he knows Violet personally. The theories may not be true, but the fan fictions on the other hand...

as someone who has light straight hair compared to my parents and brother's dark short curly hair, it is plausible, i take after my paternal grandma in looks and my maternal great grandmother in terms of my build and hair it is possible that the genes could have skipped a generation or two with violet x

Honestly,I have always considered the theory of Elastigirl and Frozone "getting busy". Even though Frozone is dark-skinned,people born from white and black parents can still turn out pale as a pillow. I think that Violet got her dark hair from him but her skin colour from her mom.

I may be wrong but lets say that powers are genes that are recessive. She got 2 recessive genes from her human parents and the NSA found out. The NSA took her away from her human parents and gave them to Bob and Helen. This could explain why her powers are different as she could still feel alienated from her parents as maybe she knows what really happened. This is probably wrong tho

She probably dyed her hair and jack jack literally has more than one power,only because his personality hasn’t set yet and their powers are based off of their personality so Violet obviously has 2 powers because of her personality and Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl probably have super resistance considering the fact that they survived being thrown around by the Omnidroid.Also if her hair is dyed and can turn invisible you would think the dye would make her hair visible but I don’t think so

That makes no sense. If she wanted to hide, she wouldn't dye her hair. Violets has invisibility but its focus on the regular apperance. She must of had black hair when she was born because if she dyed it, her would be out for you to see.

Molly Reacts that is true maybe she had blonde hair when she was a baby as he Bob does and as she got older her hair got darker like her moms and got so dark it turned black. It's also like baby's having blue eyes then have brown as they get older.

My mother has black hair and her dad had blonde hair and her mother had brown hair. I come from a family of four kids and three of us, myself included, have blue eyes even though my dad has brown eyes while my mom has blue eyes. My brother has blonde hair even though my dad has brown and my mom has black. My little sisters are twins and one has blue eyes while the other has brown eyes.

Except your case is different and easily explained by simple punnet squares. In the movie her mom actually has ginger hair (as shown before they have to go into hiding) and her dad has blonde hair, both are recessive colors. How can rr and rr make Rr or RR? For your mom, her dad was rr but her mom was either Rr or RR. For the eye colors your mom was bb and your dad was Bb.

Honestly Helene gets highlights you can see times in her hair if you really look at it and violets hair is blue black not a natural tone if you do hair but her eyebrows aren't blue black meaning she prob has dark brown hair like Helene who colors it copper brown and then further dyes is darker cu x she's kind of an emo kid at the beginning so not a surprise she darkens her look

My mom has black hair, and brown eyes, and my dad has brown hair, and brown eyes. Can you guess my hair and eye color? My hair is blond, and my eye color is blue. So I can confirm hair colors make no sense genetically. That does not mean I’m adopted or that my parents had affairs.

Regardless if violet was adopted or her mother had an affair she is just as part of the family as dash and Jack Jack. It's love not DNA that makes the family, she loves them and they love her.

Ok as soon as I get your premise "violet" May be adopted I go like "no way" and start checking on appearances. Violet has a squarish face just as Dash and Mr incredible. Her eyes are he like her father's and you Seamus just went over the hair. But can we pause over the nose? Sash and Helen both have perky small noses and Mr incredible has a straight nose that Jack Jack probably inherited (didn't give a close look) BUT VIOLETS NOSE IS DIFFERENT THAN EITHER THE TWO! Violet has a roundish nose that complements along with her straight black hair to give her a beautiful.. Asian look?! and it got me thinking: what are the possibilities of getting an assian like face?? (Also please don't sue me but take a quick look over Edna Modes)

Balora I am not straight up saying that. I am just assuming that even if Edna Modes' nostrils are slightly bigger, her nose is round and perky (just like violet's) her face is the same type of squarish and her hair is also straight and black. But I believe Edna Modes' eyes are brown and as blue eyes are a recessive trait..

the reason why violet got a black hair because it's a fit to symbolizes her introvert and shy personality, she was indeed bob and helen's biological daughter just like dash and jack jack, also her name is Violet to more emphasizes her invisibility power, in fact, ultraviolet is not visible for our eyes. plus this is a fictional animated feature with caricatural design and set in modernize 60s, sometimes adding real-life logic to these are just ridiculous.

I always thought it was much more plausible that Helen dies her black/dark brown hair that more unnatural brassy shade of red. Helen's eyebrows are much darker than her red hair, which would suggest that they dont get the same dye treatment. Her hair is also a much brighter red as Elastigirl and a deeper auburn 15 years later, which you wouldn't normally see in a natural colour.

I've always seen Helen's hair as more reddish/auburn, especially younger Helen during the "Glory Days" sequence when she's parading around in her original Elastigirl costume, and then it naturally darkened into brown over the course of 15 years.

Violets hair looks like my friends hair used to. She had black hair and dyed it blue, but forgot to bleach it first so it still looked black.

Hi! Biology/Veterinary Student here! The odds of Violet being black haired from her parents is zero percent. Their kids are either 50% Blonde possible or 50%Brown possible. Some of their kids actually could be what is considered "strawberry blondes" but black is impossible. Honestly this always drove me crazy in the movies too. I honestly think it was just an oversight from pixar because Violet's character really works with black hair and this perceived emo personality. Also I love your channel!

What about if her hair changed when her powers were developing , like jack jack , she may have shown some sort of “appearance change” power when she was a baby(which goes very well with her invisibility power) and she just kept it black when she started developing her invisibility. Let’s be honest tho, the most likely reason is that that black hair has the easiest to animate , we know her hair was the most difficult part to animate (trivia IMDb ) of the whole movie , if they had made her hair blonde or brown they would have needed to take into account tonal changes depending on light and most likely even natural highlights. Which would have made everything even more difficult

Some peoples' hair lightens and darkens as they age. My dad's hair was actually a brunette color before fading to black as he got older, and my mom constantly dyes her hair to her "natural" color because it started to turn brown over time. Several of my friends suffered the same fate, and they also happen to be the same friends who are now getting grays in their mid 20's. On the other hand, I have red hair (from my grandmother) that has since become almost platinum as the pigment has faded with age. It only seems remotely copperish if I get a pixie cut, because the red is still there, just closest to the roots. I'm pretty certain it has something to do with the pigment itself. If my vague recollection on how eye and hair color is determined is accurate, one of the genes specifically determines the pigment in either of them: strong amounts of pigment (brown and black hair, brown and hazel eyes) or small amounts of pigment (red and blonde hair, blue eyes) with brunette hair and green eyes kind of falling in between, and therefore capable of going both ways. This is also why some people with brown eyes complain that their eyes have only gotten darker over time, and others with blue eyes complain of their eyes going gray over time: they're not just seeing things, but rather if you have more pigment it'll increase over time, while if you have less pigment it'll fade out over time. Therefore, Violet could have started out with brunette or brown hair, possibly darker than Helen's (because family hair color, dominant/recessive genes, etc) and it simply started to darken to black as puberty hit.

Super Strength + Super Elasticity = Super Speed; Okay Super Strength + Super Elasticity = Shape Shifting; Alright Super Strength + Super Elasticity = Invisibility & Energy Projection? Huh? I'm not seeing that. I'm surprised that you didn't mention just how alien Violet's powers are when compared to the rest of her family. Everyone else seems to possess physical-based superpowers:Super strength, super speed, super elasticity and shape shifting. I can see Dash and Jack Jack being biological offspring, but Violet? How does super strength and super elasticity create the Invisible Woman? I feel that her abilities are simply too different from Mr. I and Elastigirl's to be their blood child.

Jack Jack can also teleport, fly, reverse gravity by sitting on the ceiling, and go through objects. Also, to say it is too different, I would say powers are a gamble. They though Jack jack didn't have powers, and didn't think it was odd.

Their powers were based on their personalities and roles in the family. Dads are a pillar of strength and protectors. Mothers need to be flexible and always stretched thin. Teenage girls try to camouflage who they are to fit in and feel insecure. And boys are just balls of energy. There's stuff about it in the old dvd.
