You have saved my life. 😍😍😍 Thank you so much Dr. I now understand why with Kapha Pitta dominance in my body I prefer cold drinks, lighter foods, light oils, butters are just sticky and I like dry foods too. 😀

I cannot thank you enough for this. I am a HOT pitta/ kapha. Summer with heat and humidity makes me feel angry. I cry with the miserableness of heat. I will follow Ayurveda strictly.

Heat (sun, spicy food, hot shower etc.) also makes me often angry/aggressive, and irritated easily. My prakriti is Pitta/Kapha, but i have a pitta vikriti. I am following a home study Ayurveda, and i love to learn about it more. I am wondering how your hair looks like? I have dark brown, kind of wavy fine hair, what grows very slowly. I do not have that thick full kapha hair.

Only just heard about this through a community walk I go on each weekend. Did a few tests & got Pitta every time. It didn't feel quite right until I took one that gave me Kapha as a secondary. This fits me pretty much perfectly & also explains why I looooove the bitter taste so much. I've watched a few videos but none of them really hit the mark like this did. Everything you need to know for a beginner. Thank you.

Should I have a diet recommended for pitta or for kapha???

I have kapha pitta constitution , and have all the tridoshas imbalanced i.e the most imbalanced one is Vatta then kapha and then pitta ( which is almost normal ) . I also have General anxiety disorder and have had a depressive episode 6 months ago . Can you please please guide me as to whether i should focus on balancing my vatta first or eat khichdhi for a week ( and what dosha to start balancing first after this 1 week ? )

I appreciate you talking about purple and lavender,as purple is my favorite color. WHat can you tell me about the Ayurvedic saying "Like attracts like" and how it relates to what i love most? Would it hint at my Prakriti? You mentioned loving sprouts as it balances your Pitta, and here i thought one loves what is most related to our dosha (like Kapha loving sweets).

I feel as though I have the exterior of a kapha dosha ( due to a medical condition called lipedema- fat /connective tissue disorder categorizes by edema, inflamation) and the interior of a Pitta Dosha. Canyou be overweight and Pitta? was young, and not sure exactly which category i fall into and therefore which lifestyle/dietary changes I should adhere too.

I'm a pitta kapha. Only found this out recently from seeing an ayurveda practitioner. Because of chronic constipation and I thought I was mostly vata. I started eating a lot of food to balance the vata including lot of healthy fat. This aggravated my pitta even more! The constipation for me was heat and the kapha causes the stagnation. Hope that helps!

It would be handy to know how much fat and sugar/carbs is optimal for this combination. You are right on the mark regarding lung infections, as this is my second one in 8 months. I do get the thick mucus. And had at least two ayurvedic consults in the last year. They both told me that since I am over 70, that it is a vata condition that is driving pitta. However, the mucous says otherwise, and I had a consult a few decades ago where I was told I was pitta/kapha. It seems to remain, and not so much vata. It was only vata when I would overeat hot spicy stuff, but I have stopped that. In addition, I cannot eat whole grains/nuts/beans/seeds since I am a non-secretor of my blood type (20% of the population has this genetic variation) and therefore, cannot break down the phosphorus in quinoa, etc. without initiating a huge cavity crisis. Trying to figure out how to sprout and ferment, but it seems that I still have tooth issues even when I do this. I also do not follow the meditation and chanting suggestions, nor yoga, because I am a Christian and this is considered worshiping false idols. However, the food principles are very helpful and have been on the mark whenever I need to understand why my body is sick or not functioning properly. My favorite color is indeed light blue (pastels) and white. And the rose/sandalwood suggestion is also very helpful. Shalom and maranatha. He's coming back very soon!
