Can someone give me any ideas on different scrum-half play styles? Like what type of scrum-half is Danny Care? What is he best at? What about Will Genia? Aaron Smith, Piri Weepu, anyone. Could someone with lots of knowledge just give me some ideas of different styles of attack and defence, because I'm to start playing scrum-half next year and I'd like to know what different styles to work on.

Explain to me what you mean by "testing the fringes." And I know Aaron Smith is of smaller stature, so I wouldn't assume he does quite as much running up the channels unless he knows fo a fact he can make it through. I'm 5'8" and 162, but I'm also 15 still. So obviously I'm not really the biggest guy, but I am very physical and I tackle very well for someone my size.

***** I just realized I completely misunderstood what you were saying, so I deleted my last comment. So you're saying even if there isn't a hole, pressure the channels a little bit to keep the defense on their toes?

+Rhys Watkin Good shout on Gareth Davies - very prescient to have posted this comment a year ago and then to see what a great world cup he had. Don't know if young Gus is still picking up these comments but I would add Joe Simpson as one to watch and try to copy, especially if you're still relatively small build. Similar in a way to Care, he makes the sniping runs around the fringes, when he passes he puts real pace on it and his runs are devastating. A very under-rated player in my opinion, I'm hoping he gets more chances with England now.

Doesn't really make sense considering 2/3 scrum halves have hair. And the only two forwards there are fully bald.
