It utterly blows my mind that the shelter was going to euthanize this beautiful sweet baby girl. It is atrocious and horrendous. Thank you for saving her. She is gorgeous

Sadly, many shelters don’t have the space and/or resources to keep all the animals indefinitely. They have to make heartbreaking choices but thankfully there are some that can be pulled by rescues and fosters to save them, like this precious one and her pups. With the difficult economy for so many, shelters are overwhelmed by pets who have lost their families.😢

Unfortunately, many shelters are euthanizing pregnant dogs, senior dogs, disabled dogs due to how many dogs they are at the shelters. A city animal rescue has put up signs and publicized they can only euthanize dogs, so if you drop off a dog/leave them in the parking lot, they will be put down immediately! It makes me sick and I don't know why it's ok?

These dogs are very intelligent and they don't deserve the reputation they've gotten over the years. People use them for dog fighting/gambling purposes and are cruel to them from the moment they're born to make them better pit fighters. If you've ever seen a bulldog work with a ranch hand while branding cattle you'll see how protective they are of both the horse and the person riding it and they work as a team until the job is done.

"Scheduled to be euthanized 3 days before having her puppies." My God, people are awful. Thank you for giving this wonderful girl a home and saving all those little lives.

Shelters are in. Tough spot- more people need to adopt And people should not be allowed to breed dogs without plans for the puppies

Some people in my area breed their dogs with their cousins/siblings/parents just to get a "purebred" then just shove away the puppies if they're born with health problems and sell the others for marked up prices that no many can afford or are willing to pay for what they see as inbred garbage. It's disgusting and horrible what people will do to these poor animals.

Ginger is one of those rare beings that is pure, warm, nurturing love. You can tell that she radiates a quiet, healing joy that can heal those who might not have had a chance, otherwise.

That is just precious. Pits are just as sweet as any other breed.

They were bred to be aggressive and the stats prove that. She's sweet but no parent in their right mind would let her around a child.

She's got the prettiest most expressive eyes. She so motherly and a kitty pacifier as well.

When my cat had kittens in my closet my pit was there guarding the door and helping mom keep them close when they first started trying to venture too far and kept watch and played so gently with them until they were weaned and adopted. His concern was so genuine and seemed so natural. He was the same when my son was born and was his big brother and body guard up until he passed. They aren’t called nanny dogs for nothing. I miss my Ozzy every day.
