    I had the same problem as you with my mesh network. Turns out you can specify the MAC address of the specific mesh node you want to connect to and it’ll connect to that. Just add bssid= to the wireless prefs. Don’t put it in quotes like what’s done for ssid

    @@10MARC let me know if It works for you. I was told in discord that this works. I tried it. It's either working or out of chance it is deciding to connect to the nearest mesh node. It's just weird that it isn't in the wirelessmanager documentation

  • @10MARC

    @10MARC

    8 күн бұрын

    I do get that for sure - but the general configuration is the same. With Genesis you generally have to tell it which device to use (wifipi.device), and since Genesis does not always work very well with DHCP, you sometimes have to set up your address statically. I probably should do a video on the setup of the various TCP/IP stacks one day. Roadshow is far and away the best, especially since it is still available and supported, and the only one that can reliably use DHCP

    would you say that the PiStorm is better than the Vampire now?

  • @10MARC

    @10MARC

    Ай бұрын

    I would not say it is "Better" in any way. The Vampire is a quality product without a doubt. The implementation of a virtual "68080" is really cool, where the PiStorm just uses brute force and CPU Emulation. The PiStorm still has issues with CHIP RAM, although far less than two years ago. It certainly is getting close to a Vampire, and you cannot keep price out of the equation. Apollo runs itself like a business and strives to be profitable. PiStorm is more of a "Wild West" thing for the masses. I love them both, honestly, but have not purchased one of the new Apollo products since the Vampire 2. In that same time I have purchased like three PiStorms that work fantastic.

    @@10MARC Even though I recently got myself an Icedrake, I just bought a PiStore32 Lite. The Icedrake is lovely but I'm just finding it very unstable. I would find myself needing to reboot on average once every 10 minutes or so. I've been given the blessing from the creator of AmiKit to work on a 12.5.0 update for AmiKit vampire edition in order to align it with the other editions of AmiKit for PiStorm, Win/Mac/Linux since the vampire edition is still on 11.5.0. Just a few fixes to go before it's ready for a release. AmiKit for vampire is pretty neat
