Pirastro Eudoxa is probably the world's best known violin string and has been a staple of many players over the last 60 years. It is a traditional covered gut string. Nowadays these strings appeal mainly to players who value the unique tonal properties and playing feel of a traditional gut cored string and are prepared to accept the need for more regular tuning and their sensitivity to changes in climatic conditions.

Great review! Thank you, These are the Best! and you need to know your staff to play the gut strings. For European trained on Gut strings violinists these are simply a treasure. The deviation of the tone is manageable for professionals. You can absolutely not compare it to any other brand. These strings carry a soul of an animal they were produced from and it does make a HUGE difference in sound and resonance. It is warm, soulful and deep. Love them!
You are right they are very sensitive. I always loved them the sound etc. I now have changed brands but most of the different type strings sometime have the option of getting the Eudoxa E which I always do. You have a good way of explaining everything. I totally enjoyed your bridge placement video. I have 2 very good violins and have always had the bridges made for me. Again very good presentation.

6 months depending on how much you play i would say synthetics are better and last longer i would reccoment obligato or violino as a synthentic

Now there is Pirastro Passione which compromises quite well between gut strings sound quality (as it is gut) and stability as well life long of synthetic strings…
Obligato or Dominant, which have more similar sound and feel to Eudoxas?
