Piper PA-38 Tomahawk Takeoff

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Piper PA-38-112 Tomahawk C-GAKT is seen taking off out of CZNL in Nelson, British Columbia. This all-red Tomahawk was a fun one to see and it really stands out, love this cool general aviation aircraft.

WOW! A Tomahawk, they are getting rare and I always wanted to fly in one and never got the chance. Thank you for sharing Jesse, nice catch and nice color on this classic 👍😎

One of the 3 aircraft I flew myself. Funny enough they are all Pipers now that I think of it. The Tomahawk, super cub and the Cherokee. Great little airplane. And great footage!

That's a nice mix of Piper's you've flown, I haven't managed to get up in any yet. The Super Cub is definitely one of my dream aircraft.

I didn't learn in the Tomahawk but my buddy did. He took me up in one back in the early 80's and that's when I learned it has two nicknames. Traumahawk and Tomacoffin. He said whatever you do, if you decide to do spins in this airplane don't look back at the tail during a spin it will make you crap your pants.

Ahh the Trauma Hawk. Never the world's prettiest GA machine. I think the nickname came about because it is capable of scaring you to death. Not that any other GA machine isn't.

Yep, I just made a comment. I didn't train in them my buddy did and he told me you don't want to look back at the tail during a spin because there's some stuff that will scare you going on. He also told me it has two nicknames, Traumahawk and Tomacoffin. I flew in one twice and both were uneventful, fortunately.

I looked back many times during stalls and spins, the T tail would shutter and wobble and you hoped the AD on the tail was done correctly. I did many spins and they could be wild and inverted, it was fun and always recoverable.@@bruce2357
