These videos are amazing. I am about to redo the interior of my Archer and you have given me so many tips and tricks that I don’t have to figure out in process.

It looks great. Very nice color choices. Your narration is very enjoyable. I was happy see that the materials are from Airtex. I am planning to replace the interior on my C-182Q later this year using Airtex products. I will be a hapy man if it turns out as nice as your Arrow.

not to cast bad karma on your project, but any thought on the velcro adhesive releasing when the cabin gets hot in the summer, and then in 5+ years the adhesive aging and crystalizing and releasing for good? I like not messing w/ the visible screws, but mechanical fasteners don't fail. I used velcro to hold down my cargo carpet at the rear bulkhead so the bulkhead will be easier to remove if I ever have to climb back into the tail. I'll be doing my Archer panels probably this summer. Your colors and scheme look modern. I'm going w/ the beige and sand colors. Then painting my plastics beige to match.

Sounds like a nice project you’ve got planned. The Velcro held up good over the summer, but I agree… time will tell. It’s a bit of an experiment. I can always add screws as needed. Thanks very much for watching. Let me know how your project turns out.

I’m in the home stretch of my overhaul with the pilot, copilot, and door panels to finish it off. Really happy with how it’s turning out. My trim is a bit darker than my vinyl, but I went with it anyway. It is actually so different it doesn’t even look like I was trying 😂. Question: I’m getting ready to secure the pilot and copilot panels and I am not super comfortable about how close they are to the rudder pedals. It’s not necessarily touching them but there seems to be play as I can push the panels toward the wall a couple inches. Did you secure it somehow?

Congratulations on nearing the finish line. I didn’t have any of the play you’re describing, so no I didn’t need to. Airtex may have some suggestions. Email me some pics when you’re done. I’d love to see it.

Oh, how I hated interior work in the beginning. My first few were in different manufacturers aircraft. But after a while I really enjoyed transforming a rat's nest into a new looking airplane. I found that the hardware you remove is not as good as new so after removal and cleaning I install all new nut plates and nut clips along with all new screws, bolts, washers and nuts. I have a dozen or so machinist scribes for hole locators. I use a 1/4 ' ratchet because I have found it easier to maneuver in tight spots. I have been around long enough to remember when Velcro was a new thing. I have found that it comes unbonded from what it is spouse to hold together. I have found it glued and pop riveted at the end to dangling and missing altogether. Velcro should work for you but in rented aircraft it is not a good idea. You are going slow which is very important to reduce errors and make the job turn out perfect. The Arrow is one of my favorite airplanes to fly. My only complaint is when you turn on your nav lights it auto dims the landing gear indicating lights.

Thanks so much for the feedback... I agree about the landing lights dimming. I have to say, that as much work as it was, I really enjoyed it. I think the temperature (right time of the year) is definitely a big part of that, and also not letting yourself feel rushed. Work until you have had enough and then stop - keep it enjoyable. Yeah a couple areas with the velcro may need a couple screws. Primarily the main door from all the opening and closing, but the other side panels are holding up great.

I have a PA-28-140 that needs a interior replacement. Can this be done by someone with no experience? What vendor do you recommend to buy the interior?

I feel like it can. I had not previous experience. I used Airtex interiors for most of the interior. Plenty of KZread videos like mine out there to help guide you.

I got it from Home Depot. I think it was 3M. Came in a box of about 13 feet or so. All the interior pieces worked out great. Did the same with the main door. One corner comes a little lose at the bottom when I open the door, but that’s just because the door sticks a little there. Just need to adjust that. Worst care I may have to put a screw or two there, but overall it works great. I also fabricated a wall panel for the inside of the cargo door that velcros on. I’ll post a video soon about that… came out really nice.

@@BlueSkyFlight I am one of the 363. Did you plan any refurb firewall forward? Also, btw I think you mentioned in another video that you fly for a living. Now I see that they have FOUR dots on a runway at OSH. I am not into that kind of crowding.

No the engine was recently overhauled. So no plans there. They only use 2 dots in each direction. So it’s not that crazy.
